I feel so foolish even asking this, but it swear this extreme winter has warped my brain and my perspective on the weather (for example, after 2 months of temps ranging from 5-25 degrees, this Saturday felt practically balmy at 40 and we were out without coats for a bit), but somebody please advise me: with a forecast in the mid-70s for most of our trip, will it be warm enough to hang out at the pool comfortably? in my brain I'm like, "that's SO WARM!" but I can't tell if that's just my polar vortex addled mind playing tricks on me or what.

All the pools at Disney are heated so it really just depends on how tough you are :rotfl2:

I will say we have gone to the pool and to the waterparks in the mid 70's and we had a great time. It gets a little chilly in the shade or if its breezy but not bad at all.And the waters warm, 80 I think.

I agree with the PP. The pools are heated, which makes a world of difference!

Also, I think it's all about perspective. I live in the coastal South, where the weather is pretty mild throughout the winter; to me, 40 is SUPER COLD! On the flip side, I don't think anything about 95 degree weather--it feels great.

So, I would be less likely to go swimming when it was 70ish outside because that is like early spring weather here.

That being said, I have gone swimming at Disney pretty much year round because it's Disney and the water really does feel good (it's just the getting out that stinks when it's on the cooler side!).

Kids will think it is warm for sure! I might bring a long sleeve top or robe to throw on after you get out if you are going to sit for awhile. I am with you... 70 is 85 degrees warmer than some days here in the last month! Last year my kids whined and complained that they were just roasting when it was 70! I just laughed!

I agree warm enough for sure. We have a few times in Jan and it was a little cooler than that, we were swimming and the lifeguards has mitts and hats on. :lmao:

Same here - we've swam in October where the lifeguards were on jackets. They knew we were from "the North" ! Lol

I'd swim but I think it might be too cold if there was a breeze.

I live in CT and it is chilly swimming here in the low 70s but then again the pool isn't heated.

We had weather in the 80s and swam...but on the day before we left it was 60s most of the day and there were people swimming so it couldn't be too bad!

We were there last week - we had a high of 85 and a low in the 40's. The one evening in the 40's the pool was empty - however nearly every other time someone was in it! The steam was rising up off it!

On our last morning the pool opened at 7am - our family was in it for an hour - it was likely mid 60's. We were the Crazy Canadians in some eye's I am sure!

This week we are below 0F at home - so yes it felt warm enough to swim!

If the water and air temp are about the same, it sometimes feels cold to swim. When the air temp is cooler than the pool, it usually feels nice in the pool for awhile, but chilly when exiting. Will you have a hot tub? It's nice to jump in there before leaving pool. Wind plays a factor too of course.

We once went swimming in a heated pool and it was snowing outside! We just brought robes to warm up in :) So I think 70's would be fine, though I agree the shade would be cool or if it was windy. We were just on a cruise where the temps were high 70's and it was perfectly fine in the pool and on the beach.
