Hi everyone-

Okay so I did the luau. The pros are that it was good food (and plenitful as another poster said) and the show was entertaining. I thought the roast pig thing was just a joke but there was an actual roast pig there being served. There were several costume changes so it kept it interesting. The MC gives a brief description of they type of dance and what it means. My kids, 10, 8 and 2 had fun. We shared a table with another family with a 12, 9 and 5 year old. No one was complaining!

The cons are that it was broiling hot!! It's under a covered roof type structure with fans but it was just plain hot. don't let it deter you, just dress in very cool clothes.

Another tip...when you call and make the reservation, they tell you that they start seating at 5:30. No they don't. They start processing people's credit cards at 5:30 and then you stand and sweat to death (you can tell I'm a northern girl can't you--just not use to the heat of the south) until 6:00 when they start seating. My advice is to get there at 6:00 so you don't just stand around for nothing. Your seat is already determined in advance so getting there early does you no good.

The actual show starts at 7:00 and lasts until 8:00. I'm glad we did it.

Have a great time!!!

Give them a call here is the details.

I also forgot to mention that I called for a reservation about 5 days in advance and was sitting right in front of the stage. For some it doesn't matter but it was great for the kids.

I called to make a reservation and was told that seating was based on when you arrive (i.e. show up at 5:30 for best seat). it sounds like that is not the case based on what you said. Just wondering if anyone can confirm that seating is based on when you make the reservation??

Has anyone done both the Wantilon luau and the luau at Disney's Polynesian Resort? If so, which one was better and why? We will be staying at both resorts this November and would love advise on which show to attend.

Thanks lghost for the review. We have reservations for Tuesday the 5th. The information about waiting until 6 to get there is great. I really hate waiting around, especially in the heat. I'll be sure to bring our mini misting fan with us to dinner :rotfl:

Thanks for the great review!
