I am hosting a family birthday party for two sisters - ages 4 and 7. The people attending will range in age from 4 to 72. The girls want to play "games" at the party. Please help!

Does anyone have suggestions for fun party games that will work for all ages?

Thanks in advance.

Fill different size jars with M&M's, jelly beans, etc. Each person can guess how many ___'s in each jar, and whoever comes closest wins that jar.

Tape a picture of an an animal on everyone's back. They have to ask other people questions about their animal, until they can guess what it is. When they know, they report their answer to the "zoo-keeper", and get a prize.

...That's all I can come up with at 10:00 at night, but if I think of anything brilliant tomorrow, I'll log back on.

Good luck!

You can make some type of Bean Bag game. I made one with fabric and an iron backing fabric that made it stiff. I can't think of the name of it right now. Different aged kids stood at different places and tried to get it in the "harder" holes.

A treasure hunt/scavenger hunt works well for a wide range of ages. One option is to pair an adult helper with each younger person to read clues and assist in the hunt.

I personally like the idea of a hunt where you have clues that lead you to a new clue each time. Or a search where each object found fits into a puzzle that would have to be unscrambled at the end. It can be as hard or as basic as you want to make it so it works for many ages. Sometimes the simple puzzles are harder for the older people to solve since they are out practice.

A hunt at a recent party we had six boxes hidden, where each box has a different puzzle or thing to do. Like the first box had army men and you had to find one of the men with a letter on it. Then another had a balloons and you had to blow up and pop the balloon to find the missing letter. Then, after you get the six letters they unscramble the puzzle and spell a message.

Hope this helps!

This game is always a hit and fun for all ages. It's called "Guess the Person".

Each person has the name of a famous person (written on a sheet of paper) on their back. The person cannot see the name of the person on their back.

You can pick names that everyone knows- even disney characters. For the kids who are 4 and 5 , you can use pictures of people or help them read the name.

Each person can only ask "yes" or "no" questions to figure out the name of the person on their back. i.e am I a girl? am I on T.V.? etc.

Everyone goes around the room asking different people questions until they figure out the name of the person on their back.

Thanks for the suggestions, everyone! I plan to try several of these at the party. If you think of any more, just keep them coming.

My girls are 6 and 8 and they were invited to a friend's party. All the kids were split equally into 4 groups. They wwere given 2 rolls of aluminum foil. They were told to pick a model and the rest were the designers. They used the foil to make outfits to wear over their clothing. The models strutted their stuff and the judges picked the winner. They were so creative and had such a good time.

Then they each took 2 more rolls of foil and picked one person to wrap up like a mummy and the first team to finish was the winner.

Hi Fellow Michigander!

You can do a decorate your own cupcake or cookie for treats.

You can decorate your won pumpkin (if you are doing this in Oct.)

If you have a pile of leaves in your yard you can put a tarp down and then pour a bunch of trinkets onto the tarp and cover it with leaves. You can then call the kids over by age (youngest first) and let them hunt for treasures in the leaves!

One fun game is a balloon stomp. Tie a balloon around everyones ankle and they have to try to pop them.

If it is outside you can do an egg relay, put an egg on a spoon and they have to run across the yard.

Another relay is to have them push an orange across the floor with their noses.

Have everyone stand in a circle and have them pass an orange around using their necks (beware:this is not a game for the ticklish)

One of my favorites growning up was the broom dance. My mom would put a face on the broom and we would have to dance with it. It's kind of like hot potatoe, if the music stops and you have the broom, you're out.

That's it for now.
have fun!!!
