Hello. I want to take family there for fun and scoping place out for future visit. I've read about all the great things to do, etc.

I have no idea if we can park there and if so where? How much?

Hoping to maybe do cane pole fishing, playground, roam around, wagon ride, petting zoo....not sure if we'll go during day or evening but maybe campfire singalong would be fun or watch water pageant from beach....

Thanks so much.

Trish

1st, you can park in the overflow out front. From there I'd suggest catching a bus to the Meadow Trading Post. Once you're there, check out the store and afterwards the pool. This may be a good time to fish behind the store as well. They sell bait at the bike barn also close by.

Once you finish all that it's a short walk to the Settlement where you can visit the other store and even take a boat to the MK or another boat to the Contemporary or Wilderness Lodge. If you're there early enough you can rent a bike by the hour and see more. Have fun.

You can park in the overflow lot. It is a seperate entrance just past the check-in. There is a sign that says Pioneer hall parking / Hoop dee doo etc...

Walk over to the Outpost bus stop. There is a horse stable right there that offers horseback riding.

Then take the Orange Settlement bus to the Meadows trading post. There is a store there. Then walk over to the new pool and splash area (behind the store) There is also fishing and canoes available there. There are also tennis courts there.

Then you can either walk or take the Orange Settlement bus again to the "Settlement" There, you will find Pioneer hall, Trail's End, Crocket's tavern, another store, Mickeys backyard BBQ, The old abandoned River Country water park, a beach, watercraft for rent etc...

There are different color buses:
Purple goes mainly through the cabins
Orange goes right down the middle (camping loops and Meadows front)
Yellow goes to the right side (camping loops and back of meadows area)

Hope this helps

The Orange bus also goes past the cabins.

Unless, you just want to see the cabins, honestly, I would take the Yellow bus and get off at Loop 1500, then cross the road, cross the bridge, and walk towards the Meadows area that way.

It is back to purple going through the cabins. The orange goes through the first cabins and turns at the first right to go back through the middle.

After you park in overflow you could always run into the Outpost and pick up a bus map for the current flow of things. It seems like they change things just to change them.

Unless it's changed in the last month, orange comes from Outpost, runs through all the cabins and past 2000, then turns around at the 2000 turnaround, then runs down the middle. Just a very long ride in my opinion!!

Thanks guys! Well back from AK just in time for downpour and thunder...think it's clearing up. We're hoping to head to Fort this evening...I was going to pack sandwiches, etc. I'm assuming there's a place to eat?

Thanks again. Appreciate the help. I'm so excited to see the Fort as I've been reading this board for a while now!!

Have fun and be sure to let us know how it goes for you when you visit.

When we were there in 07 all we could find was a map that had nothing labeled. If Disney had this summary posted, we'd have known right where to go!!!!

Hope you missed the torrential downpour yesterday :( I took the girls yesterday for a day out visiting the beach and ducks and watched the water light show topped off by the fireworks. We did spend a good part of the afternoon from the deck of the Tavern watching others paddle their way from the dock to the buses...boy oh boy did it pour

Sorry forgot to post my report in this thread...I hate when you are left hanging...

We had a blast. We missed the downpour thankfully...we were at Epcot it rained before we left at 1 and headed to Anna Maria....now sitting here while everyone chills after being at beach all day...rough life. LOL.

Here's my report from the Campfire singalong with pics...
