I have a very nice wheelchair. Next year we are planning to go to Universal and I wanted to take my own. However I am worried about leaving it when we go on rides. Is there anything you can do, like lock the wheels with a chain or something, to prevent someone from taking it? Or do you think they might do it anyway?

Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Just don't lock it to anything Disney owns or you find a broken lock when you return to it.

While we have never been to Universal we have been to Disney and Busch Gardens several time and never had a problem with either of my daughters wheelchairs. They both have rigid ultra light chairs that cost around $3,000 each.

I am not sure why you would need to lock it. Generally speaking, you would be in your chair up until the loading point. Once you load, CMs take care of your chair for you, either moving it out of the way or moving it to where you will exit. I use my own customized chair and have never experienced any issues. This has been the case at many amusement/theme parks that I have been to. We do Disney, Busch Gardens, Hershey and Cedar Point every year. I have also never had a problem at Universal.
