Can anyone recommend a reputable closing company? We are looking to sell our contract on own and would only feel comfortable doing this w/ a closing company, all funds in escrow, etc.

Also - if anyone can recommend where we should list the contract, I would appreciate - redweek? tug?

Thanks!

DW and I recently listed and sold a timeshare property (Sheraton) through Redweek. We got quite a bit of interest, once the price was set properly. We got an acceptable offer within 2 weeks, So I can recommend Redweek for the listing.

The closing service is a different story. I do NOT recommend First American Title. They had no one who seemed to know what was going on at all. It took over 2 months to get the sale closed, and we went to them with a buyer in place, and all the contract items already settled. They did not respond to phone calls, and in my opinion, took there time once they had the buyers funds on deposit.

We did have great luck with the Timeshare Closing Services for the purchase of our first DVC contract - their web site:

The people were all very professional, communication was excellent, and the process was quick and painless.

Good luck, and I hope this helps.

I believe The Timeshare Store (Disboards sponsers at the top of the page) can help with the closing on your DVC.

I would call Brenda at The timeshare closing services. We bought 4 resale contracts through the Timeshare store in the past seven months. Each time they used The timeshare closing services. Brenda was excellent and was very responsive to my numerous emails.

When we bought our resale, we found it on the TUG listings. We used Timeshare Closing Services for the closing. The entire process was super and the people at TCS are terrific. They really went out of their way to help us. You may want to follow the sales on ebay for the resort you own. If you aren't going to go with TSS, I would probably look into ebay or TUG. TUG was suggested to me by another DISmember and they too had purchased from that site.

Good luck!

Timeshare transfers will be around $250 total last I heard.

I have this one bookmarked on my computer after it was recommended here on the DIS--
www.timesharetransfer.com

The buyer is the one who is supposed to get to choose the closing company. Maybe give them a choice, and let them compare fees, etc.

Good luck with your sale! :sunny:
