I was hoping my member number would have arrived by now. Waiting! waiting! I have airline tickets already. I want to reserve a studio for 12/2/13-12/8/13. I can't wait to be officially a dvc member

Those dates are going to be very tricky! December is an extremely popular time and you are currently four months out. Maybe talk to your guide and see if they can help you with your first booking, especially since you don't have your member number. Good luck! I hope you get the studio you want.

Once you get into the system you can put in for 2 waitlists. I would do SSR and OKW.

I'm gonna bet you won't find anything at all available for this year. If you really plan on going, book something for cash. Other members booked their stay for that week about nine months ago when they were eleven months out.

With that being such a busy time of year and so close to time of travel, it is unlikely that the week will come through. Definitely wait list - you never know!

Another option is that you *might* be able to get a day or two. You could always book whatever you can at a different resort so you could try the studio out. I would prefer to do this at the end of my stay, so that I end at the DVC resort, but you may not be able to work that out. (This is only a suggestion if you REALLY want to try for DVC and you don't mind moving. Sort of funny that I suggest it as I really dislike split stays. )
