Want to mail food/supplies - What & How?

This year we are going with some additional guests and have a 2bdrm & studio - so I'd like to mail down some kitchen supplies & snacks etc. - as I heard you can do. I don't plan on cooking major meals or using the diswasher all that much although it would be nice to make breakfast a couple of days. Should I even consider shipping paper plates etc? What ships well? How do you ship? What arrangements need to be made? Help! I'd love to make this a regular habit to save room in my luggage -where do I start?

Purchase your supplies down there and save a whole lot of room in your luggage.

The guys plan on making a limo/towncar stop on the way in for water, beer etc - I really don't want to be searching for too many things in a grocery store that I'm not familiar with - let alone leave that to my DH.

It seems to me that I've seen this idea discussed in detail over on the Budget Board. You could maybe post the question over there, since a number of people seem to view the mailing of food & supplies as a cost-saving measure. Or you could do a search to try to find what threads have been posted on the subject.

Sorry I can't help you directly. I haven't mailed things down before. But sometime for a future trip -- who knows?

I have several times, ordered groceries at Netgrocer.com, and had them delivered at the BWV. Just check out the delivery schedule at netgrocer.com, and count back how many days to order before you leave, so your delivery will come the same day you arrive. It works great, and while the prices might be a tad bit higher than a typical grocery store, they are certainly less than Disney, and you have no work to do. I have even ordered laundry supplies, shampoo, various toiletries so I don't have to pack those items.

We mailed a package last trip. It included pampers and baby wipes, microwave popcorn, cereal, snacks, ice tea mix etc. You certainly could add paper plates if you wanted. I will add paper napkins next time. Also aluminum foil and plastic baggies are great for left overs. The package was addressed to name on the reservation and the date of arrival was noted as well. We didn't call ahead and alert the front desk and the package was waiting for us.

Just another netgrocer.com reccomendation! I have used netgrocer.com for every trip to WDW so far! You can usually find online coupons on sites such as flamingoworld.com. I love the convenience, and the prices are not too bad either. You can choose which date you want your package delivered on, so I always have it delivered on the Friday before a Saturday or Sunday checkin. It certainly shortens the length of time needed for a grocery stop. Now we just have pick up the perishable items on the way to our resort

I always address it like this:

Resorts Name
My name
Guest checking in (insert date of arrival)
Resorts address

I have never had a problem getting my package/s when I check in. I just mention it to the person checking us in, and the packages arrival is usually noted on my reservation.

We used netgrocer on our last trip and were very pleased! I ordered all that I could thru them and that made our grocery stop much shorter. Good luck!
