I booked last night and asked about discounts. I had a great cast member on the phone and he told me to call back 6 months before the trip and ask for the discount to be applied to my reservation. He sounded pretty sure that there would be a discount, but he didn't mention anything of what type of discount it would be.

I would recommend keeping an eye out for Special Offers and book as soon as one is offered if it matches your date. There is no guarantee that something will be available exactly 6 months out from your vacation dates.

I have 2 friends who will be able to book if FD is offered at the end of August. We are now within their 6 month window but still waiting so keep checking after your 6 month window too.

Do you know is this a 2 day ticket requirement for everyone in your party? I'm new to having an AP and not sure how that works. Thanks so much!!!

traditionally, yes. AP holders would still have to buy a minimum ticket. Many upgrade the rest of the room's tickets when they get there, use their AP, and save the unused ticket (separated from their room key) for later use.

I am not so patiently waiting as well. We are scheduled to arrive the Thursday before Thanksgiving and hoping to get in on FD. If no FD is offered we will have to stay off-site to save money I'm a bit nervous with the rumors of changes to the FD discount ~ this will (hopefully) be our first time staying on-site.

We are staying 9/22-9/28 and I feel like I'm addicted to checking the special offers tab! I swear I check it at least 2-3x a DAY just in case they pull a fast one and release them in the middle of the day! I am really stressed about it, I really need some sort of discount. I am booked at a value but am all prepared to bump that to moderate if they offer FD for them. I am certain it would still be cheaper for our family of 4 that way! I was really hoping something would have changed today but maybe next week since the current one expires on the 7th? Praying for pixie dust, fairy dust, heck any kind of dust at this point!!!!

We are booked for AoA Aug 17th - 24th. I have been hearing they won't do FD for AoA LM rooms. Now what to give up? The really cool experience of staying at AoA? The $ we already planned on spending on the DP? I think we'll want the experience, that's what Disney is about - they are selling an experience. But if FD IS offered at AoA LM rooms we'll take it

We would definitely switch hotels for free dining. We are looking forward to AOA but really want free dining. It will save us over $1k.

I won't even talk about a trip until FD is released. We are a party of 5 and the cost of the plan is huge. Traveled last summer without it and missed dining terribly.
