My DH, DS6 and I went for our first trip to WDW in June 2006 and had an amazing time. It's been a tough couple of years; we each lost a parent, our son has been having a rough time due to a learning disability and ADHD, and our marriage has been feeling the strain. For that one week, it was pure happiness. We all got along, had tons of fun, ate great meals, hung out by the pool and relaxed, etc. Now I have it in my brain to go again for Feb vacation. My TA has a courtesy hold for a lagoon room at the Poly and I'm feeling nervous! We've never escaped New England in the winter before, and I'm thinking a little more Disney magic might help the mid-winter blahs. Is twice in one year totally ridiculous? My husband is willing to be persuaded and my son is, of course, all over the idea. Does anyone care to share their opinion?

I think you know in your heart what you should do. Family first. Happiness will follow. Go and enjoy ! Disney is a great place to escape reality!! :wizard:

What do you feel guilty about? Putting your family and the time you spend together first? Not freezing your buns off in NE? Perhaps the hideous crime of taking more than one family vacation in any twelve month period? Go to Mickey's!

Seriously, if going is something you can afford to do, then by all means, go. I can't think of a single family vacation that I ever regretted taking and I have wonderful memories of all of them.

I guess it's just so much money, but you're right, it's making memories and enjoying each other. I guess the practical me is saying, paint the house, fix the driveway, etc. But Fla in Feb sounds awesome!!!!! Thanks for the support!!!

OH kirbydog48 - don't feel guilty. I had the exact same experience in Feb 2006. In 20 + years I have never seen my husband so relaxed and so happy. I am still basking in the GLOW of the wonderful time we had. It was to be the TRIP OF A LIFETIME (1 week at the Poly) and look - we are going back! You really do deserve the chance to be happy -- and don't wait for that someday - grab it now. Make the plans - sign the deal! AND THEN DANCE  !!

If you can honestly afford it and it won't put any kind of strain on your family, go for it! Life is short, as you well know, enjoy your time together however makes you happy.

If I can get over my guilt of having 2 trips in a 3 month period, then you can get over your guilt of having 2 trips in a 9 month period!!!!!! :rotfl2: At first I felt guilty, too. I've had a November trip planned for a year, but I had to add that free dining trip in August. When I get back from my November trip I'll be planning my next one! :cool1:

I will be going on my 2nd disney trip this year in December- do I feel guilty?/ No way people!!!!! I work hard and feel as though I am very well entitled to a wonderful disney vacation. My family of 4 had such a wonderful this past week in September- we stayed a whole week. We actually did things together as a whole family. We sat down for dinner every night (thanks free dining), that was special because at home we don't do that very often. Life is to short and if you can fill it with disney trips- go for it!!!!! I have been working alot of overtime and we just moved into our new home so I am pretty stressed out right now- come on 41 days until my short disney trip and my instant disney fix, lol.

Okay, I did it!!!!!!! Deposit today, AND my TA emailed me to say there was a discount and she's saving us about $500!!!!! Made my plane ressies and we are good to go!!!! I'm dancin! Thanks everyone!
