Want to get in the Christmas mood in August?

After months and months of failed attempts to get my Windows Movie Maker to work (ended up buying a new computer, but not for that reason), eight months later, I finally sat down and made a montage of all the videos we took during our Disneyland Trip in December of 08. Realizing that we need to learn not to shake the camera so much. Enjoy! It's ten minutes long.

Excellent vid---is that music at the end the alternative when they cancel the fireworks??

Word of warning if you used WMM...make your DVD copy now!! I spent a LOT of time making a vid of my visit to PI before it closed but because it took overnight to burn one copy (which I gave to a friend) I just put off and put off making another. Finally 2 months later I went to make the copy and all I found was the dreaded red X's

Thanks everyone. Glad you all are enjoying it. Making it made us want to figure out a way to book a 2nd trip this year during Christmas. Not sure if we can swing it with the whole house thing going on, but one nice thing about DL, is with a cheap flight and a Motel 6 a couple blocks away, it might be possible for a short 3 days. We'll see. We've done Disneyland for next to no thing before.

Yeah for some reason they FROWN upon getting naked in the dark rides. Disney can be such buzz kills.

Disneyland has a few times during the night when they have a Castle lighting show and then it snows on Mainstreet, New Orleans Square and IASW hub. First one is around 6:30 I think, then after the 9:30 fireworks, then at night before closing if the park is open that day until midnight. Nothing like ending your night at the park with it snowing and Silent Night playing while you walk down Mainstreet and out the front gates. I love how they inject the smell of coffee, cinnamon, ginger and other smells throughout mainstreet. Makes it all that more perfect.

With WMM, the key is to save your project as a .wsmm file and to not move any of the files you used from whatever folder they're located in until you're 100% complete. Prevents the dreaded Red X's. Once it's completed, publish your movie and save it as a .wvm file. Once it's in a .wvm format it can't be screwed up.

It is something special to be in the snow isn't it?? Last xmas I got the chance to take my aunt and uncle (all expenses paid!) who were the people who always took me to Disneyland when I was a kid. Being able to do that and standing with them while the snow fell and the music played just choked me up knowing I was finally able to give them something back after all these years.

I took to videos of the snow, one in NOS and the other on Mainstreet. Watched it from IASW and the light show on the side of the attraction, but never got around to filming it.

And I have to admit, that last scene where Steven says, "It's snowing!", I totally had tears running down my cheeks. I couldn't help it. Luckily, it doesn't show up in the video. lol

I haven't been to Disneyland at Christmas, and Disneyland has some very cool touches that looked different than the Magic Kingdom, like the Small Small World changes and the Haunted Mansion Changes.

You look like a "cute" couple together (Dont Yell).

Now I would love to compete for the DVC California Villas reservations for an early December booking.

Hmm, maybe I should rethink my need for Florida and make it a California treat next November/December with a side trip to visit family in Arizona ?

I will have to consult with my partner who is aching to see the west coast. I wonder if he can surf on the California beaches in early December?

Now how many shopping days to Christmas ?
