Want to eat at Le Cellier and the Flying Fish...is DDP the way to go?

We are two adults heading down in March for 5 nights. We don't arrive until 9 p.m. on the first night, so we actually wouldn't need to use any of our dining plan credits on that day.

We were considering the standard dining plan. Neither of us our big breakfast eaters--we can grab a granola bar in the hotel room. We'd do counter service for lunch each day, and have a snack. I know we'd have to use 2 TS credits for each of us for each of the above mentioned restaurants. We don't drink, so that's an expense we wouldn't have to worry about. I realize we'd be OOP for tips and appetizers. We'd also be OOP for additional meals, since using 4 out of the 5 TS credits in 2 days wouldn't leave us much choice.

Any opinions on this? When I look at the menu items and prices for these restaurants, it might be the way to go. I'm not quite sure.

well, looking at allears for menu prices, do you have a 'feel' for what you'd order, and the total price (tip,tax,etc) ?
Well, what is the cost of ddp for 2? I think it's approx. 58.00 per day pp (?) so that's 580.00 for 5 days, plus add tips for TS meals (18% on bill)
Plus some granola bars... which equals
so that's 3 dinners TS
5 qs meals (one qs could be your 4th night dinner)
5 snacks
OR
go to allears.and calculate cost of
Lecellier for 2
Flying Fish for 2
One other dinner somewhere (4th night)
4 qs lunches (maybe 10.00 pp?)
ANd see which totals more.
I have a strong feeling paying oop will be smarter.

IMO I would pay OOP at FF and save those 2 credits each for other nights. I don't like the desserts at FF so I would pay OOP and skip the dessert.

Or you could pay for one meal with credits and then pay OOP for the other person. Perhaps split an entree and then just pay OOP for an appetizer?

I would not waste 2 credits on LeCellier. Do Flying Fish and pick. 2 good one credit meals. So so food and poor service are not worth the price

QS credits are "worth" appox 16.00 ea.
Snack credits are appox 5.00 ea.

I personally would have a hard time finding value at lecellar for 2 ts credits, like I told my Dh if I'm using 2 TS credits on one meal I'm going to yachtsman. Never eaten at FF so can't speak for there.

I personally dislike DDP but I have plenty of other options I can use and not feel like I'm being "forced" to eat more than I would normally.
