Its at Kmart - lots of them. I'm already going to be there doing Purina on Cape Cod. Now I wonder if the person who normally works that store will take it. Then I'll be face to face with them. uh oh.....

I noticed a few other lone events at Kmart & Target here & there at odd stores on odd days. Weird.

I'll keep hoping for more off dates from Walmart & Kmart closer to home for the week days.

I've been thinking:

I went to the Super Target in my neighborhood this past weekend and introduced myself to the MC agent there. Very nice lady. She said it's good that I am coming on board because the young man she normally works with (I saw him but didn't speak to him--they were actually chatting with each other the first time I did a pass by) is heading back to college. YIPPIEE--I hope that means I can get some more events closer to home. I have taken a few events about 30 - 45 minutes away just to get my feet wet and build some $$$$ quick but prefer to stick close to home.

But anyway--has anyone ever had a newbie "encroach" on "their" territory and how do you feel/handle it/etc?

Or, as a newbie do you ever feel "guilty" you might be "messing with" someone elses routine/income?

I unbooked the Glade Wisp at Kmart for this. A boring air freshener demo or giving away ice cream? Wasn't a tough decision.

How do you get this company to call you back or reply to an email? I posted awhile back about a Coppertone where the store didn't carry the tea so I didn't know if I needed to make a 75 cent swipe in to begin with. I called and left a message before 11 am and I called again shortly after that. I got the check yesterday and they docked the reporting bonus section and I'm sure that it's because of no beginning purchase.

I also haven't received a kit for the Chex thing on Thurs. (2 days away) so I emailed asking if it was sent. No response.

I got a reply about part of it later on (and it was vague, so I called). The guy who answered at the help desk said I can't get the requirement bonus amount because I didn't have an initial purchase, even though I called to ask (twice, got voicemail, didn't get a return call) and called at the store before 11 am, and did an end purchase and called in my report right away, had receipts, mailed that same day. I even wrote all this on my report form to cover myself.

I think this isn't fair - it's not about the money, but more about how awful that day went - no kit/no product at the store/no live person to speak to. 5 hours with only sunscreen testers seemed like an eternity.

No where does it say in the papers I received that you must make a purchase at the beginning if the store doesn't carry the product, but I sure know that now, and hopefully others here will see it. I think I saw something on initial swipe in this thread quite a ways back, but if I remember right, the reply said not to make a purchase. I'd glady trade them 75 cents for $27.

Oh - my kit for Thurs. just arrived - so I am half-happy now...

Not sure if this is new but there is an audit for the 7/21 Flat Earth event up.. I'm already booked to do the event, but at least I'll know that if someone books it, I'll be audited on Saturday!

When in doubt, swipe in & out. That's what I do. Worse that can happen is they dock your paycheck 75 cents. Right?

Alot of this job is figuring it out on your own. I find it almost impossible to reach someone when I'm at the store. I think thru everything & make a decision on what I'm going to do about it.

Cups & napkins I would have either used up my supply if I had them. If not, I would have bought them & enough product to reach my dollar amount if I couldn't get the weekend ph# to increase my amount. You just make do.

Thanks, I learned a lesson, that's for sure. Good point about the 75 cents! I wish I could sort out all your posts to read in a row. It looks like we're supposed to be able to do that here, but it doesn't work.

The kit wasn't too exciting, but I was glad to have the allergy warning cups. It didn't make a lot of sense to me, but my neighbor has a toddler who has a severe peanut allergy (he has seconds to get epinephrine after exposure) and she said that Chex cereal, even if it doesn't contain peanuts, is made with the same equipment that peanuts have gone through so all the peanut allergy moms know about Chex.

PS - I just re-read the event instructions for Coppertone/Orient and it says if no product is available, to distribute brochures, etc. BUT on the Chex it says if no product is available, make a 75 cent swipe in so thanks MC for putting that in now lol

oh and what do you do if you run out of product and you don't have coupons or anything to give? Do you just state the selling points? Do people ever leave early and then just get paid for 4 hours vs. 5? Not that I would - just curious.

and if I haven't been a big enough pain... for Chex it says to bring 1 MC card, 1 table and 1 black apron. Does this mean we wear just the bouffant and not the hat?

I got a Kmart too, that was exciting as it's so close.

I am as pale as they come and I had several people tell me that I wasn't a good person to promote suntan spray - so I said I'm the example of how to prevent sun exposure (lots of eye-rolling on that one). I am so jealous of tans, I couldn't get one if I tried and all the new self-tanners still make me orange.

Another event at KMart on 8/11, 12-4 Wrigley Gum, Jones Soda, Wheat Thins. I passed on the Nice' N Fluffy, but booked this one. Tomorrow it's Big G Cereal and Saturday Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps then each of those on off-dates next Tues & Wednesday. Haven't had an event for 12 days, but now it's four in a week.

I've been picking up quite a few events this week! I have the cereal event tomorrow, diapers on Sat., an offdate cereal the 30th, then for Aug i've got 8th Cont. and Curves cereal, the snack attack at Kmart, 2 sirloin events, Garnier, and the nice n fluffy. There's some off dates i'm thinking about booking, but need to make sure MIL doesn't mind watching the kids

That sounds better, I should've went and bought some because it's going to be weird to wear that bouffant thing with a hat. At least I remembered to go buy some better gloves at the dollar store. My hands sweated so much with the others that I was able to get a ring off that hadn't been off in 4 years

Do you think it's ok to have bangs not covered? The only way I can wear a baseball cap is to put my hair in a pony tail and have it stick out the opening in back.

A rep might be visiting the store on the Chex (according to an email I received) so I'm wanting to do things right.
