I'm not one year until july i think but just like mentioned above, i mean to put my money away for something but theres alsways something that comes up and i have to use it for bills. Just yesterday my phone went dead and i had to go get a new one $85!!! That was part of my electric money so im glad i have a paycheck coming on saturday!!

Anyone else get an email that their 5/26 Purina event had been cancelled?? I did, went to check my events & confirmed it was unbooked.. then checked to see if any new events had posted & found the 'unbooked' event sitting there available?! I re-booked it & sent an email asking if it was on or not?! Weird....

By any chance, did someone do the Pace Frozen Entrees event? I was able to pick it up this afternoon as an off-date for next Thursday and I'm wondering if the cooking time was actually 30 minutes. Also, was there any problem with the size of the pan it comes in fitting into your microwave?

Thanks
Kathy

I did the Pace entrees last weekend. I have an 800 watt microwave and the pan fit just fine. It does indeed take 30 minutes to cook. I would cook one and as soon as it was done, I'd put the next one in. People liked them.

Thanks for the info! Does your microwave have the turntable? This will be my first microwave event and I need to buy one this weekend. I thought I had until the 29th, but this opportunity came along so I need to get my act together.

Yep, mine does have a turntable. While the first one was cooking was awful though. People kept coming up and wanting to know when it was gonna be ready and I'm like 27 minutes.... The Mexican lasagna and the cheesy chicken enchilada ones were big hits. The steak fajita not so much.

Anyone else doing Hamburger Helper microwave singles tomorrow? I'm going to the same store I did it at last time...a few months ago I think. They had the end display FILLED with boxes last time. :rotfl2: Like I was going to sell something like 100 boxes of HH. Hey, maybe it will be the same 100 boxes still there tomorrow. :rotfl: Actually, the stuff is ok. But I'm not good enough to sell that many in 5 hrs.

Oh, BTW, there were updated instructions to NOT use the plastic bowl included incase anyone missed it. It said to buy a 97 cent plastic bowl at the store. I'm bringing my own 3 cup glass mixing bowl instead....along with a spoon for mixing & serving instead of trying to use forks to do that. And of course duct tape, trash can & bags & a tableclothe they didn't mention again.

I'm doing HH tomorrow. I did it last weekend at a different store. People liked it a lot. Maybe people were just hungry last weekend :confused3

Thanks! This has been helpful in knowing what microwave to buy. I found a 800 watt a couple of weeks ago that would work, but might try Best Buy this weekend to see if they have a 900 watt that's easy to handle. I'll cook the two you said were "hits" first and go from there.

After doing several Target events that required no cooking or appliances, I did my first WalMart event, Pillsbury Cinnamon rolls, on Thursday. I don't know if it was weather, new store, or the day of the week, but this store was dead. I was only baking two rolls at a time and still couldn't get rid of them because there was no traffic. I passed out more to WM employees than "customers". Also had two Promoworks gals there with me. One doing Enviga and the other Hefty trash bags. The Enviga lady took a 80 min. "lunch break" and wanted to tell me about her medical problems. The "Hefty" lady was "roving" the store passing out the bags and didn't bother me.

Ugh.. I hate those... I'd like to say "I'm here to WORK & so are you, stop gabbing & go away!!" Instead I politely smile, act distracted (with WORK) hoping they'll get the hint.

I'm doing Bissell tomorrow (and next Saturday)... with the expected NorEast'r tomorrow & the "so fun" cleaning products... I'm sure I'll be bored to tears.

Just picked up another Coppertone event, this time for on 5/13.

Just picked up another Coppertone event, this time for on 5/13.

5/13 is MOTHER's DAY.
Here....some stores are 5/12 & some are 5/13.
In my area, they added more Coppertone for a few stores & the title is "Coppertone 5/12-5/19-5/26". However, I'm only seeing listed for 5/12 & 5/19 so far. I took the 5/19, because my mom would kill me if we didn't go to the Cape to see her for Mother's Day ENTIRE WEEKEND. She's the queen of guilt trips.

And even though its called "coppertone 5/12-5/19-5/26".....I did notice just 1 store listing event for 5/13. No one listing events for 5/26...YET.

I'm back from Hamburger Helper. I sold 29 out of 89. There were no Cheeseburger Macaroni on the shelf, but they found a case of 12 out back. Then I sampled Lasagna & Taco flavors. I have to say.... every time I was spooning the Taco flavor into cups....that pasta shape & the way it was flopping around just reminded me of earthworms. :scared: I'm glad I only did 1 box of that flavor. It was all I could handle. lol

There was another lady from Frasier & Wagner there. One of the "long break" & leave early types. She asked who I worked for & I said MC. Then later she asked for the phone#. I wasn't on my game today, and blurted out its just a website...and gave it to her. She said her monitor isn't working...and then I kept trying to down play the company. Just shoot me. Luckily, I wasn't anywhere near home today.

She gave me the name of 2 companies she works for & the contact info. They have many more events during the week. I've been thinking of looking into them....since I'm just "sitting on my butt" at home during the week. I wonder who gets paid more...Walmart cashiers or other demo companies. LOL I'm not ready for another high stress "real" job yet.

Oh....ya can tell the nor'easter is on the way. BOY...were there lines at the checkout!!!! :scared:

Instructions are now up for Yoplait & 8th Continent Soymilk for 4/28....and Snyders of Hanover Snacks on 5/11.

Actually, my Mom & I usually go out on Saturday because the restaurants are too busy on Sunday... so I took it.. $ is $ & I'm leaving for Disney in less than 80 days!!

To the company you are contracting with? I went to snagajob.com but did not see what everyone is talking about. And as you can see this tread is 355 pages long. A direct link will be greatly appreciated. Thanks:cool1:

Alternate links are given in first few pages of this thread. The employer gives little if any direct training. We suggest you read the beginning of the thread (guessing 30 pages or so :confused3 ) as that is where you will get alot of your training. After that, its alot of us talking about upcoming events & how our event went that day. Still very useful. We actually suggest you read it. You will benefit from it. As we find those that don't read it, ask questions that have already been covered.

Hey Splash I think your lady may have had a twin sister down here demoing in Ga.

She was with PromoWorks and she just complained all day long. She ask me who I was with and I told her. She started complaining about how they did not have work and how you had to live on the computer YADA YADA YADA. She complained about at least Promoworks let them sit on stools and I said for 7 dollar more an hour I will stand thank you very much:lmao:

Hamburger Helper was very popular here too. I had to exchange mine for the Stroganoff because the Cheeseburger kind flew off the shelf in the first 2 hours.

I think I have Disneyitis because I just kept daydreaming today and I felt so exhausted and irritated I know not good when you are demoing. Well only 1 week to go and boy am I ready:banana:

Tomorrow I have Take and Bake pizza at Target. I am glad I like my Target demos I can just get up and show up not have to lug my equipment but hey I am not complaining those microwave demos are great the extra 12 help.

Hope everyone else day was good!!

MaMa3Princesses, ya know what else bugs me about these other demo people? They don't bring what they need. She asked me twice today for extra gloves. Then if I had extra napkins. Then, would I tell her when it was 3:30 since she didn't have a watch. :confused3 Didn't have to do the last since she left 45 minutes early when she ran out of samples.

Oh.....and I found her ice cream cups EVERYWHERE when I was walking the store looking for my cups.

I had another MC guy once ask me for gloves. I buy my own at Dollar Tree....package of 100 for $1...and I bring the entire bag with me. I'm going to start saying no from now on. Go to the deli & bug them. I'm not supplying everyone else.

I like it better when I'm the only demo. No "chatty kathys" to deal with.

Ya'll did the HH event with other flavors? My store was out of the Chesseburger Macaroni. I read the instructions and it said to make a 75 cent MC swipe out :confused3 hmmmm I wish I had done that now since I would have liked the whole pay for the day.

I have the boring Bissell event tomorrow.
