The last time I went to a grand opening, the cash registers were not open till 8:30 and then they could not find my box, I was there for an hour, called and then had to leave... I wish you luck!!!
I am doing a Neutrogena event on Thursday, A bake-off on Sat and then Crisp Chips on Sun.. Then I have 4 Bake-offs in a row, A kotex, Diete Dr Pepper, 4 More Bake-offs...... I will be busy for the next 2 weeks!!! But I really need the money right now... 4 Kids are very expensive!!! Especially the ones that need gas money...

WOW... I wish you the best of luck, I am guessing thers not much compettion in your area and theres a ton of off dates right? I ca hardly get off dates for my area.

I have tons of competition, but I waited all week to get the off dates, and I was one of the first to get them, and I booked them.. I missed 2 I really wanted, and I have to drive over an hour for 2 of the days.. and over 30 for the others... But you had to have a toaster oven, and I guess not everyone has one.... You just have to be quick to get them here...and willing to drive..
I just hope I can do it with out killing my feet.....

I'm a bad person. The more I thought about it, the more I didn't want to do that 8am grand opening. I unbooked. Its over 2 wks away...so someone will take it hopefully. I know there was another demo in the afternoon for beauty stuff & someone took that...so maybe there is competition in the area.

If no one takes the one I unbooked...and it comes up on off-date, I could take that ---after the store has been open for a few days. And according to our paperwork from when we are hired, it says weekday offdates events should be run 2-7pm. Well, I USED to do the 2-7pm thing when I started, but then started doing them 11am-4pm & no one has said anything to me. Soooo if I take an offdate, I'll ask if I can do it in afternoon.

I can't deal with opening day stress.....especially on no sleep. I'm TRYING to change my sleep pattern....but I've been trying for a year. Its not going to happen in 2 wks time.

I'm a bad person.

On 3/11, some of our Targets are having the Archer Farms cookies, others the Archer Farms Signature Blend Coffee, and then the rest are doing the Archer Farm macadamia nut bar. Wonder why they're doing different products at different locations on the same date?

Glad I'm leaving on vacation 3/29 so I won't have to make the decision whether to do the 3/31 Optimum Beauty at KMart if it becomes available.

Well I would soooo rather do 11am-4pm or 2pm-7pm, than 8am-1pm. I should never have signed up for it in the first place because of the time factor. I just NEVER imagined it would be the first day AND at the time the store was opening.

Trust me on this you only need to have one issue. I learned take the time to make a copy. My motto "stuff happens"

I have done over a 100 events and I STILL and will copy my paperwork. I purchased a 4 in 1 last black friday for 49 dollars, but it has been times were I have had to send them event paperwork, especially when they were in transition. I just would not take that chance. I would never send in my paperwork with out a copy.

Ok,I am African American and I dont want to do the Optimum hair care products. Why because there stuff is awful!

If they don't receive your paperwork in the mail, you won't get paid. If you don't have a copy of your paperwork, you won't be able to provide anything to them so you can get paid. I simply use my scanner at home to make a copy, then print it out on the printer. OR just keep the scanned image in a file in your computer. I've been able to email them the scanned image file once we determined they didn't get my paperwork...making the process of fixing the error go much quicker.

Some people finish paperwork at the store & make a copy there. If you prefer to call in your results when you get home, then remember to write your confirmation # on both copies before you mail in the original.

Honestly, it never occured to me to take a copy until people started posting here that their paperwork wasn't received & they weren't paid. I started making copies after that. And sure enough, its happened to me at least twice that I can think of.

I fibbed....and said something came up.

Yes MAKE COPIES OF EVERYTHING!!! My very first event took like almost 2 months cuz they dont have asystem in place to see if they dont get your stuff, so after like a month i emailed to say whats up, oh sorry we never got your paperwork, thank my lucky stars I had made copies, so i got paid. Ever since them I send everything ceritfied mail, costs more but w/e. This ahppened again in dec but instead i was able to say so and so signed for it on this day. didnt even ask me for stuff just paid me.

I took up the optimum event only cuz it has samples. Havent seen anything else show up cept that friday event.

Yes 8am is early but it could have been fun. Maybe free stuff even I've learned to try not to second guess and just to dive in after making sure there is water in the pool of course

No you are not stupid I have done 3 grandopening here in Atlanta and some were stressful, and 2 of them were fun, fun, fun! The management makes all the difference. One of them the management was so unhelpful and they were really busy they did not care to help me look for kit, well that is the time that a MC person for California came and witness what we as demo people go thru. One time I could not clock in till 9:00 am because the store had marching bands, choirs, the Mayor of Atlanta the whole nine during the ceromony. Another time time, I grandopened doing the pizza rolls and cookies and the electricians had not tested all the outlets and the only outlets that worked were way in the front of the store, far far far from product.

So if you are not one for stress, I say pass because at Grandopenings you just never know what to expect, but in no way shape or form are you Stupid, just your womens intution may be kicking in!

Thanks. I think i would feel better arriving hours after the opening OR days after. I can't handle all the possible things that could go wrong that early in the morning. lol I'll let Daniel decide what he wants. 8am by someone else....or me at a time I prefer. (LOL, that sounds bossy.)
