My family is going to Disney in a few months to celebrate my parents' 25th anniversary. We are 5 adults and my parents used to take us to Disney frequently when we were growing up, so we really want to do something different for them. We would like to plan something special for them to do together and/or something special for us to do as a family. I was thinking maybe the Illuminations cruise, although I'm not sure that it would still be available but I will check. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks.

An Illuminations cruise is great for a group celebration and the boat will be decked out w/banners, etc. I'd give a try to secure one. The only other thing that comes to mind for a group of 7 would be a special dinner at a favorite restaurant. Maybe a night at Jellyrolls? Not much coming to mind for a group...anyone else???

the cruise is a GREAT idea

you can also have chocolate strawberries delivered to the room

depending on where you have ADRs some places do little things like personalized menus, confetti & so on
you could also special order a cake...i did a bday one & a 2 tier anniversary cake

make sure they get anniversary buttons!!!!
& when you check in...tell the cm & have the signed card & balloons sent to their room from M&M..its free (or at least it was)

Thanks everyone for your ideas!!! We are going to see if we can do the cruise and we filled out a survey questionnaire at Gifts of a Lifetime. Hopefully they will have some good ideas for a magical event. We really appreciate the feedback!!

If you all want to be together I think Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian is really special. Also, I think there will be a better chance on doing it; because, the Illumination cruise can be hard to get a reservation. Try a Wishes cruise; they are easier to get, if the Illumination cruise fails. You can get a party cruise for either one which includes cake. You do pay more for a party cruise.

Also, I would think about doing something special just for your parents like a spa treatment or room service one night with champagne, strawberries, etc..

Victoria and Albert's is fantastic if you want to spend for it. There's a chef kitchen you can do there, but ressies may be hard to come by for it.

We celebrated my sister's wedding on a family trip that happened a few weeks before the wedding. We did an afternoon cruise rather than Illuminations....departed from the Yacht Club and went toward the studios and then turned around and actually sailed into the World Showcase. Very leisurely, fantastic driver, and I ordered champagne, cheese and crackers (and juice and fruit for the little ones) from Yacht Club room service. It was a fabulous experience that the whole extended family really enjoyed.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. We just got back yesterday from an 11 day trip and really had a great time!!! We decided on the Wishes Cruise since the Illuminations cruise was booked and we really had a fabulous time!!! My parents really enjoyed it and it was so different than anything we had ever experienced at Disney!!! It was truly amazing and magical!!!
