Hi
We are off 29th Nov will I be warm enough in thermal leggings and jeans or should I wear ski trousers.
Do I need thermal socks if wearing snow boots.

Thanks
Angie

just keep an eye on the weather forecasts for Paris - on accuweather you can get a forecast for 15 days ahead. If the real feel during the days you are there is 0 degrees or colder, you'll be best with skiwear. If not, you should be okay with a thermal layer under your clothes, winter coat, hat, scarf and gloves, and thick socks with your boots.

Im off on the 29th too, sooo excited!!!! I will be taking both thermals and snow trousers for us all and will decide each day what is best although normally i just wear thermals and jeans as does oh but i always put dd7 in her ski trousers with some joggers underneath, she hates the cold.

I'm planning to take snowsuit for DD6 but for myself, OH and DD14 we're going to go for layers. We're used to low temperatures up here and looking at the forecasts on accuweather its warmer than Scotland:goodvibes

Just got a bargain Trespass snowsuit off Amazon for £11.99:banana: DD will be toasty hot.

My local paper says we're forecast snow and high winds in the next few weeks here so we'll probably be going to DLRP to warm ourselves up:rotfl:

Thats great, have you looked in lidl, they have some good offers on ski wear at the moment.Childs snow trousers and jacket for £15,i got some thermals the other hay for £4 each.

We are going on 29th of November as well.......

Fiona glad you said it looks just as cold as here (we are in Edinburgh) was just starting to panic.

My wee boy is 3 and I bought him a trespass snow suit, its a bit so he might be a bit like the marshmallow man!!!

My only worry though is we will all be nice and toasty outside but sweating buckets on inside rides.....

I always wear lots of layers on my top half so that i can easily take one or two off if i get too hot, also if i wear a jumper i always wear one with a zip all the way down that way when you go into a ride if you undo your jacket and jumper so both completley open you dont overheat but can do them both up again easily to keep warm.

I am going on the 29th aswell. I think there is a pretty large group going from here then lol :cool1:

I brought DD 6 and DD 3, winter tights to wear under there trousers. I also got them a Trespass Coldheat ski coat each, for a bargain £18 each. Got hats gloves ect so i am hoping we should be ok.

Is there anything else anyone recomends as a must?

Many thanks

DDs snowsuit arrived this morning and it looks fab (if a little big!) She's been running around the house with it on totally oblivious to what its for;) Just need to order her snow boots now. Think I'll get the suitcase down and start sneaky packing the thermals:goodvibes

DD's ski trousers arrived today - also too big as I got age 5-6 and she's only just turned 4, but at least they will last!! ;) I got myself the Lidl ones but they had sold out of the kiddies ones. I got some ski gloves this week too, nothing worse than cold hands, except perhaps for cold feet!

Fifi Rose - where are you getting the snow boots from??

My wee ones snow suit is too big as well, have sewn poppers in so I can turn it up inside without the worry it will fall down when he is running about. Snow boots look good, I got Buzz Lightyear ones for him with furry linings from Asda for £12.50, he loves them.

Sure we will all run into each other when we are there, where are you all staying, we are at the Cheyenne.

This threads got me a bit worried. Will I really need to have this sort of clothing?

I think it depends when you're going. Have a look through the trip reports for around your dates. We go on the 3rd - 5th dec and it looks like the temperatures are dropping from next week (accuweather). For the adults in our party we're not going overboard tights and thermal undies under our clothes and winter coats, waterproof boots. I'm more concerned about the little ones. Its a long day in the parks and they'd be miserable and moaning if they were cold.

Good tip about sewing poppers in the snow suits. Even my sewing skills might stretch to that:goodvibes

Wmoon we are in the cheyenne too.Just one thing about the snow boots, please make sure they are waterproof,i made this mistake the year before last with dd,bought her a pair of snow boots from tesco with lovely fluffy lining to keep her warm and dry but at the first sign of snow they were soaked through and poor dd had freezing wet feet.I did then make use of the tumble dryers at the cheyenne which shrunk them in size so they were un wearable!!!! lol On our return i fired them straight back to tesco!! This year i have bought dd some waterproof walking boots from Go outdoors for about £20,they are totally waterproof(have already been stomping in puddles) and comfy and with some thick socs are also warm plus she can wear them for school through the winter.

Best to be prepared, thats how i look at it.I have been caught out before and had to spend loads on thing that i already had at home but just didnt think to bring.

I bought DD snow boots from Next. They kept her feet dry and warm, plus they were 'fashionable' enough to be acceptable for wearing out.;) I found separate ski trousers easier than ski-suits, especially when it came to taking kids to the loo.:)

Thanks Flookie.

He had them on today in the rain, with a bit of puddle splashing and they seem ok. Thanks though although the real test will be having them on all day in miserable weather.

See you there.

In my experience, its when the sun goes down that it gets very chilly - and the sun sets at just after 5pm at DLP from now on really. I had thermals on my DD last year from 29th Nov to 2nd Dec at DLP, and she needed them. We used our earmuffs, scarves and gloves too.
