Since I can't get to the doctor until Monday, I thought I might as well indulge my hypochondria with your theories. My body just aches from head to toe. I also have a deep, productive chest cough. Sounds like the flu, right? But here'e the thing. It is a weird time of year to get the flu and I went through something like this exactly one year and one month ago.

Last July I pulled a tick off of me. About 3-4 weeks later I started feeling fluish. I immediately went to the Dr. and tested initially positive for Lyme's disease. I did about 20 - 25 days of doxycylcline (I forget how long) and felt better almost immediately starting the pills. I went back for a follow up about 6 weeks after my diagnosis, and the doctor told me that now he didn't think I had Lyme disease afterall based on a more detailed bloodtest that took longer to run than the initial one. He said it must have been some sort of virus, but I never bought into this because of the tick. (I never did get a bullseye rash, though.)

Now almost one year later the same symptoms are back. Advil and Aleve have done nothing to help. I started a new exercise DVD last week and thought I was sore from that, but it isn't going away and I usually bounce back from sore mucscles in a day or so. Also, the cough started at the same time.

So what the heck is wrong with me?

The flu is always around, it just isn't all that common to get it so that could be it. Do you have a high fever? I would also suspect pneumonia with the cough.

Fifths disease (virus)
can cause body aches for a while

Maybe you did not drink enough water during exercise? That could cause prolonged soreness.

As far as the cough you could have stirred up stuff from your lungs from exercising.

If it started at the same time as the exercising, then I would say that may be the issue.

Interesting!

Can you tell us more about the blood test? Results and numbers would be great.

I just heard on the news yesterday that the flu is making its appearance early this year. Many states are already reporting outbreaks.

We had a neighbor with Lyme Disease that took a while to get diagnosed. She was feeling achy and very tired and sometimes faint. She was afraid to take a shower without her daughter sitting in the bedroom in case she passed out in the shower. She went to multiple doctors until one finally tested her for Lyme Disease. After the treatment, she felt 100% better.

UPDATE: It's bronchitis! I spent all of yesterday layed out on the couch, so I called the doctor first thing today. Now I get to have happy robitussin with codeine dreams tonight and finally get some sleep.:cloud9:
