Hi Guys
I want to get a natural gas grill for my hubby for Christmas. I've been looking at Weber's, but am wondering if I should look at one of the other brands. We have a natural gas hook-up coming from the house...so...I don't need a propane hook-up. Also, is this something I should have the store assemble or are they pretty easy to assemble ourselves?
Thanks!

We have a Ducane. My DH, who researches things to death, decided it was the best brand for us.

The Weber Genesis is almost a "legendary" gas grill. And the service is fabulous. Plus, it seems, no matter how old it gets, you can always get parts somewhere.

I have a Weber and it's the best I've had in over 40 years of grilling. I've also heard a lot of good things about Ducane. I've had a number of grills with side burners and I don't recall ever using them, but that's just my particular taste, so I have decided to save the extra cost. As with anything, proper care and maintenance is key to a grill lasting a long time.

Thanks everyone!! I was looking at the Webers...but there's so many to choose from. I'm glad to hear that the Genesis is a great model.

I'm seeing that Home Depot has the Genesis on sale...online only...is this something hubby could set-up or should I try to buy it pre-assembled?

We have a Weber also and love it.

A lot of places will assemble products for a small fee. We bought ours unassembled and had no problem putting it together.

Just make sure you buy an actual Natural Gas grill. You can't just hook up a propane grill to a natural gas line-different fittings.

Depends on your mechanical aptitude. Ever put a bicycle together? You could probably handle a grill. Weber might have manuals online so you could have a look at the assembly instructions first.

Get a Webber. I don't have one now, but wish I had my old Webber back. We have had a Ducane now and while it looks great I've had to replace all the burners (5 of them!) and it's only two years old.

I researched last year for father's day and didn't get it then, but will for Christmas. The Weber Genesis 310 was so highly rated and when I looked at it today, it is one solid feeling grill. Pricey but from what I've read, worth it. Glad to see others here recommend it as well.

The Genesis model I am looking at is a little cheaper at Lowes and they have free assembly. I could kick myself because they were clearanced about a month ago at the end of the summer. Now they are back to full price for Christmas.
