Haunted Mansion or bust!

Every time I go on Haunted Mansion, I try to take pictures and, every single time, they look like poop. Does it stop me? Nope 'cause you never know when one might come out looking halfway decent.




A long time ago, I read an article about Disney and they said it was very hard to keep the cobwebs on the light fixtures, furniture, etc. I wish that were true at my house where dust bunnies seem to show up overnight.







Meh, not bad but not good either. Let me see if I can get a decent picture of the hatbox ghost.

Haunted Mansion or Bust!

Some of my fellow Disers get THE best pictures of Constance Hatchaway in the attic. Again, I try but.............





Yeah, not good. Let's see if I can get a good hitchhiking ghost.







The ride was great as always but the pictures were just so-so. Doesn't matter how many times I try, I never get more than one or two good ones. Doesn't mean that I'm gonna stop trying though. Just watch what I do in just a week or two.

Nacho average parade!

Running from hitchhiking ghosts made the two of us hungry. One of our favorite quick service restaurants is Pecos Bill's. It was better when they had the fixin's bar but it's still very good. There's only one food picture because we both ordered the same thing, the nachos. Now that I am looking at the picture, I'm wondering where the tomatoes and lettuce were. Maybe under the giant chip on top? I don't know but I know they were there because I made sure to ask for them. See that little cup of guacamole? That's not included in the price and I had to order it separately. It was okay but most pre-made guacamole is just okay so I'll give them a pass.

Oh I forgot to mention that we lucked up and found a table for two without any table stalking.




Just as we were finishing up, the parade started and we were able to see a bit of it.











I love the fire breathing dragon and kept taking pictures while waiting for it to spit flames.






















You can probably tell from the pictures that we were in a different spot along the way. That's because we were weaving out way down the pathway as we wanted to get ahead of the crowd and enter into Fantasyland before them.

Nacho average parade!

I was able to get a few more pictures of the fire breathing dragon (who wasn't so fire breathy at the moment) before we found a place to cross the parade's path courtesy of some kind CMs directing foot traffic.







This is where I will acknowledge the fact that you are all probably going to be laughing your booties off at us after seeing where we went. You now Fantasyland but what did we ride?

Yep, we went to Its a Small World. I simply can not go to Walt Disney World and NOT ride Its a Small World. I gotta get at least one ride in every trip.

It's a world of laughter

I know that there's a lot of people who think that this attraction is NOT a world of laughter but more of a world of tears due to the song getting stuck in their head. I really like it though and do not feel that it is a waste of my park time.

I try not to post too terribly much about Mama because, well, I don't really know why. I guess out of a sense of privacy for her.

We arrive on November 14th and check out on the 30th. What are your dates?

Nov. 14 - 30th, woohoo, you're leaving tomorrow! Have a blast. You deserve a trip with lots of joy.

Good morning Disboarders!

It has been almost two months since I have posted but there are quite a few reasons that I have been absent. Some of you who are friends with me on Facebook already know that my mother passed away. Just a few days after we came home from our long Disney trip, Mama fell out of her wheelchair at the nursing home and it all went downhill from there. She was taken to the hospital and was in isolation because they thought she had an infectious disease (she didn't but it took them 17 days to get three tests done and a whole lot of pushing and calling to make them get the final results done). We couldn't go see her. Her health declined rapidly and I had to make some tough decisions. I was her advocate the entire time she was in the hospital and I knew that she just needed to go "home" which is what she felt the nursing home was for her. I fought for her and made them stop poking and prodding and running this test and that test. Once we got her back to the nursing home, she lasted less than 48 hours and almost made it to her 91st birthday.

Instead of Christmas prep, we were planning her funeral. But, we decided as a family that we would NOT stop our Christmas festivities. We needed to be together as a family. The food preparation and game preparation (we play games when we get together) were rushed and my house wasn't the spotless house that I usually have before having guests over but it was a good Christmas despite it all.

Let's move on to the other things that kept me from posting. We left for our Disney trip on November 13th and didn't leave Disney until November 30th. We attended two Christmas parties, spent ten days in the park, had lots of off days and Lacey, our daughter, flew down to spend the last three and a half days with us. It was a great trip and was much needed.

John and I have decided to get back to our one road trip per month for all of 2025. This past weekend, we went to Hot Springs, Arkansas and Hunter and Tabitha, our son and daughter-in-law,. joined us there for some of our meals and flea marketing. It was a nice getaway. I'm already looking for someplace to go for our February 2025 road trip and will keep you guys and gals posted on where we are headed.

Now that I have you all caught up on why I have been gone for so long, I am here to let you know that I'll be back to add another update soon. Please stick with me! I promise I'll get this done!
