Booked Walts for dinner for our trip a month away. But having read the menu on DLP - Ultimate food guide site, I see nothing that stands out (to be honest from the descriptions, don't fancy anything at all, but I do think the place looks beautiful- wondered what you had when you went or should we change our reservation to Inventions or Beaver Creek at Sequioa?

for starters i had the goat cheese parcel and dbf had caesar salad which he said that the one at the park side diner was nicer
we both had chicken i with mole cocoa sauce, with pan fried veg..It was very nice, for desert I had a crumble with custard it was fantastic..we also had a bottle of wine, can not remember which one though.

dd had chicken breast and fries, with Ice cream of after.

It was one of the best meals we had..very relaxing and clam

I had:
- clam chowder
- Risotto with lobster (very very very good!!!)
- Some cobbler

I know my mom had something with tuna and the same dessert as I had, but don't remember what she had for the other course. It's already been some years ago, but I thought it was very good. Whenevr i'll be at DLP during the summertime (long opening hours), I will certainly return there.

PS: The menus do change once in a while, and those on the DLP food guide are not *always* up to date. When I went in January, about no menu was the same as the one on the food guide!!!

PS 2: once there, you can check out the menu, and then decide whether you change reservations. One afternoon, I went to City Hall to make reservations for that evening, and couldn't decide on Cape Cod or Yacht Club, and the CM gave me a reservation for both, and said I could decide later on which one I would use (and yes, we did cancel the other one, like 20 seconds before entering the restaurant!)

Just had a look at the menu..The same as when we went in december, they must of changed it after the christmas season if it was different in January.

I had :Grilled beef tenderloin with Bearnaise sauce and vegetables a la Plancha. Served with roast potatoes - it was delicious (and so nice to find something served with vegetables!!)

DH had:Free range chicken breast, Mole savoury cocoa sauce, panful of vegetables and roast potatoes - he enjoyed this but scraped of the cocoa sauce!!!

DS1 had: Meat balls in tomato sauce
DS2 had: Ravioli with cheese - both enjoyed

puds: banana split and chocolate brownies for the boys. Both adults indulged in chocolate layer cake - all VERY yummy!!!!!!!

Its not worth the money.
Small and crowdy upstairs restaurant.
The choice is also not overwhelming.

That is not true!

Walt's is for me the best restaurant in the DL parc! (Not in the whole resort!)

The atmosphere is great and unique! Were else can you find 5 different rooms? You can visit this lovely restaurant 5 times and have every time a different experience! There are many tables with view to Mainstreet. We had two times a table in the Mainstreet room with view to Mainstreet. I will never forget these two meals. Perfect food and additionally you could follow the “life” on Mainstreet. The next time we want to have a table in the Fantasyland room!

The food is also exceptional. We loved the Walt’s Gourmet burger! This was the best burger we ever ate! And I always have the same starter which is tomato Tatar. GREAT!

And don’t forget you can discover so many things about Walt’s life in this restaurant: Pictures and even the little bird which gave Walt the inspiration to invite the Audio-animatronics.

And one last comment: The price for a Menu (starter-main course and dessert) 25€ is IMHO not too expensive! After Tomato Tatar, Walt’s Gourmet burger and Crème Brulée we have had enough for the rest of the day!

Ever tried Plaza Gardens,Inventions or California Grill?

The last time and really the last time we did eat there we waited over an hour to get our table with reservation. We asked special for a window table but ended somewere in the back. The food was cold en come on a burger for that kind money you can get also at McDonalds.

Our waiter called out all the time fot his mama (she worked also there) for everthing we orderd.
No sorry next time an other restaurant for us.

By the way in Nurnberg our favorite place to eat is das Heilige Geist Spital. Love it.

We have eaten there 3 times. And every time was perfect!
The first time was 31.Dec 2003. And although the park was crowded the service was fast and the special Christmas menu was superb! And the other 2 times were also more than perfect. Very nice meals and fast + friendly service.
And you will never ever get such a burger at a Fast Food Restaurant!
And we never waited for our table longer than 5 minutes!

We have also been to the Inventions and this is our favourite hotel restaurant! Just great!
We haven’t tried the GC yet! Is it worth the money?

But we have been two times at Palza Gardens and this is a restaurant were we say: “Never again”! The first time we had nice food but due to a big sports group of teenagers the meal was horrible due to the noise they made. And the second time the food was uneatable! This is what I wrote in my Trip Report which is still available on this board!
------------------
We wanted to give the Plaza Gardens Restaurant another try. On our first visit in May the food was good, and I liked the atmosphere immediately, but the whole experience was destroyed by a very loud group of 30 very loud young people. This time the restaurant looked very nice to, and there were only gentle people; but therefore the food was ugh!
Nothing was labelled, I found many not cleaned plates, the most food was unidentifiable and cold, and it tasted not good. Its to bad about that very gorgeous restaurant.
------------------

But I think that is a general thing. The satisfaction depends on the precise day of your visit. You will find for every restaurant some people who loved it and some who will say: “Never again!”

Your right. Everone has his on ideas.Thank God. Immagin we would all eat at the same restaurant :teeth: :teeth:
Would thad be crowded!!!

Inventions is really great. We dinded there last christmas eve.
Super.!!!
CG not yet tried but is alreaddy booked for chrismas evening. (Dont ask fot the price).

I have to say that Walt's was the best meal that we ever had a DLP. The food was lovely, the service good, and the atmosphere was very calming which was a nice contrast to the parks and the more heavily themed restaurants. I love character meals however it is nice just to have a meal in a nice relaxing environment without all the noise. Also i was pleasantly surprised with the price, Starters, Main and dessert for 2 adults and a child plus a bottle of wine was only 90 euros compared to 110 euros at cafe mickey without wine and starters. The food is worth the cost!

Looks like you have had a range of answers to your original question :)
Have you decided if you like the choices available ?

Thanks to everyone - we've decided to stick with Walts and save a couple of the others for a future trip. We will love the theming I'm sure, being a little obessive with Disney memorabilia (DH can spend hours in 'Walts Dream' in Disney Studios in Florida).

I think it's definitely worth a visit.
