Walt's Magical Life **MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS

We saw it last night and thought it was well done.

The first part is mostly the same thing that you see in Florida at One Man's Dream. After that the screen rises and you see Walt perched on the front of his desk. As he talks he rises to a standing position and gestures as appropriate. At the end he returns to the position perched at the desk

Is it difficult to get in to see it? I'm wondering if I will be able to see it if I come up Monday or Wednesday afternoon. It'll be a really big effort for me to drive up and back. If there's no way I will be able to see it, I might wait until August.

It is VQ but the theater holds a lot of people.

You can try for a VQ at 7am while not in the park but for the 12pm drop you have to be in the park. I don’t think it will be on VQ for very long. One vlogger said he was told it could be off as soon as Sunday.

I saw it yesterday in the second Public show

1) The Q, while it was already nice they have filled it with even more art to look out, The old Disneyland map is gone and is now a replicate of Walts office above Mainstreet/Firehouse. The Anamtroic's in the second room are very cool and it sucks to lose the DC models...what replaced it is really cool.
2) They said Bob Iger was going to have a word before the show...its pre recorded but people cheered like he was there and then laughed when they understood it was just apart of the show
3) The main show is mostly Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream from over at WDW/Hollywood Studios Park. Its a soild show that has lots of info in 15 mins
4) Walt up close might not look like him but the movements and show it self is very cool. Others brought it up but this AA has to do sooo much more then Elsa, Tia or Jack sparrow and so it might be part of it become just comprimises for what looks good in motion over pictures.
5) The Exit area has some really great art that looks back at Disneyland over the ages, you can also see photos of things from the park history (like the little mermaid meet and greet which is where Tinker bell is now) and also a section with art for the attractions announced at DCA

I'd say the show for me is on the level of Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. I think its fun we have two shows and exited to see how it works when both are running

At the very least the Q and exit area's I think are very nice additions to the park and the show will hopefully make most people happy and a way to sit down for 18 mins.

I hope by Sunday the V Q is done, so I can just enjoy the Lobby/Q areas

The 7AM queue is still open..3 hours have gone by. Right now groups 46 to 76. Not much demand, This queue will be gone soon.
Yesterday was a madhouse. People were buying stuff that had been in the parks for months - handfuls of stuff. Ryan Riller shared that one of his pieces that had been in Disneyana for 2 years sold yesterday. People definitely planned on spending $$$$ yesterday. My guess is that they came for the day and left.

Today feels much more like a normal day. A bit more crowded than a regular Friday in July, but manageable. Just like with Lincoln, most out of town visitors head directly to the E ticket attractions.

My VQ of 95 got called just after 10 am.

I wasn’t blown away — I think I expected the portion with the animatronic to last longer. I do think the mannerisms were well done. Overall I experienced the same thing I do with Lincoln, and that is a deadness in the eyes. Everyone is comparing the animatronic to photos and video of Walt, and of course in those he has a sparkle in his eyes that was impossible to recreate. That in itself is going to impact reviews. So I think it makes more sense to really look at the mannerisms and body language, and it’s well done.

The poster who mentioned the forehead height is spot on! That does make a difference, and may be why people think the Walt animatronic looks too jowly or squat.

The first part of the show was information we already knew, photos and video we’d seen before, and audio we’d heard before. I do want to see it again because I want to give the animatronic another chance and also to sit closer than I was able to on Thursday 7/17.

I’m laughing now because I just read the Scott Gustin article about how they included a sparkle in the Walt animatronic’s eyes. I guess I just wasn’t close enough to see it. I was halfway back, and felt like the stage lights made it hard to really see all the details of the face.

Lots of people are saying that it's better in the front section

I went Sunday they were stopping people from getting in the Q now and then but the theater when I went around Noon while the lobby was full the Theater had maybe 60% of the seats filled

The show seems like it will be at the level of Lincoln in terms of crowd

For me Walt moves so darn well its really impressive, one day I will watch it closer but in the back it all looks great.

I also hope the Q can stay like this for years because its so darn cool to see AA's so close up
