Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

We will also be "Team Swan" on our Xmas trip in just two short weeks from today. I am really excited to see the holiday offerings available! 🎄🎄

Has anyone purchased any of the paid Xmas extras in the past? Thinking, "Santa's Stockings", Winter Wonderland bag, Xmas room decorations, etc.

Has anyone done the kids cookie decorating or Christmas crafting activities?

I was there pre-Thanks

I was there pre-Thanksgiving in 2019 and they had the best Christmas displays and music. My fav holiday hotel!
I've always enjoyed the lighting on the causeway in the evening along with the music every 20 minutes or so. Right now, I'm missing it.
Thanks for responding. That’s a bit of a hike. I may want to do laundry before we head over from Universal.
The short walk from the Swan across the causeway to the Dolphin is really short, AT. Not much of a walk at all.

Enjoy.

It’s been a long while for us since our last Swan stay. Where is the causeway?
It’s a very leisurely one minute walk, likely less for most people. The only issue with laundry would be weather. It’s mostly covered but wind can drive the rain under the cover.

Potential alternative if awful weather- there is an on-demand free shuttle between Swolphin properties, just ask the valet.

Just finished a trip in a 2-bedroom grand suite at the Swan.

Not sure anyone cares, but they switched to normal bottles of water instead of Fuji water for suites at the swan.

And I also discovered room service is basically food in takeout boxes instead of what you’d normally expect with room service with actual ceramic dinnerware and metal utensils.

Well that's a bummer. Was the quality of food still good?

Glad you asked!

We ordered breakfast only 3 times. Long story short its hit or miss, for us the convenience was more important so we continued ordering it despite the initial disappointment.

2 of 3 mornings, the mickey waffles were the best we had on property. One morning it was soggy and stale. The cut strawberries they include with them were always bad and had that slight fermenting smell so you know its kind of old.

The cut fruit was mostly unripe melons that were on the hard side. So I also wouldn’t recommend those, the grab and go ones from Java were honestly better.

Grandma loved the oatmeal and had it every morning, the blueberries that came with it were very good.

Overall I think mobile order from Java is likely better quality food than room service.

One additional note, because its basically food delivery, they leave you with the insulated delivery bag to keep if you want. They type with the padded metalized liner to keep foods warm.

Thanks for those details. Certainly hit and miss.

Yes but it is an option while at any Disney resort not named Grand Floridian, there is no room service (Private Dinning) available.

They never returned to trays, plates and metal utensils after Covid. That's why there is no trays of old food cluttering up the hallways.

Yes Java is great but it a very limited selection designed to serve a different audience.
