Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this question. I called Marriott reservations, but did not receive an answer or any assistance. I booked the Swan Reserve with an AP rate for the end of March, this Monday afternoon. I have the reservation number and confirmation e-mail from Marriott and linked the reservation to my MDE account. However, the document stated that in order to receive the AP rate, I would incur an immediate charge to my credit card in order to secure the AP room rate. As of Friday afternoon, the charge does not appear on my credit card. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know of a better customer service number to call? I would like to have the balance paid before arriving at the resort. Should I cancel the reservation and try to book room only with Disney, if that is even possible for the Swan Reserve. I wanted to stay in the Epcot area and current AP rates are not available for the Crescent Lake Hotels or not in my price range ($885 for Boardwalk Inn). Thanks for any information or advice with this matter.

Why is marriot booking/charging upfront more than one night for dolphins? Anyone have this issue?

We will be staying at the Dolphin next weekend. We are big Joe burrow fans so we will want to try and catch the Superbowl somewhere. Is there anywhere on property or close by that we could watch it? I've already tried making reservations at city works in DS and it's booked.
Well, I was going to suggest the ESPN Zone, but I checked and that place is still not open.

In the past, the Bellevue Lounge at the Boardwalk Inn has offered snacks and meals to order from the restaurants, but ESPN was open, and had the game on the large screen television. It is a small place, but it most likely will offer some food and have the game on the television. You could always order a pizza and bring it up to eat, but it will probably be very crowded in that small area. Ale and Compass Lounge has televisions and you can order food from the menu -- great Vermont Cheddar Burger.

Have fun watching the Super Bowl at Disney World!

Is housekeeping back at Dolphin? If so, is it what we all knew - clean room, take trash, put beds together, clean bathrooms, etc :)

Swan processed my suite night request from standard no view room to deluxe resort view, balcony. I’d written off getting any use out of these suite night certificates this year so this will be kinda nice! (Been poking around here long enough to know there wasn’t a snowballs chance in FL they’d upgrade me on status alone 😆)

I'm really interested in staying at the three Bonvoy resorts. Was thinking about getting the AMEX Bonvoy card. What's the best card to get to stay their? Is it worth staying at those three on points? Any great strategies you guys use? Any advice would be great!

At what point do the prepay rates drop off of Marriott’s website? I booked a refundable AAA rate. Closer to our trip date I don’t mind booking the nonrefundable to save even more (currently it’s $27 cheaper per night).

Also, check your rates because mine dropped a bit and I rebooked for my week! I tried modifying the reservation to get the cheaper rate but couldn’t ever get it to work on a PC, mobile browser, or through the app. Don’t forget to go through Rakuten. The cash back rate was previously 1.5% but is 4% currently.

What’s the best number to reach the hotel front desk itself? Not 800 generic reservations

Hey y’all! I’m currently staying at the Swan Reserve if anyone has any questions. I’m in a traditional king room with a Hollywood Studios view.

For those that are platinum or elite, where on property are the breakfast vouchers valid for?

also - are the properties currently packed?

Is it just as easy to get to DHS and Epcot from the Reserve as the regular Swan and Dolphin? It seems like from driving by you would have to cross the street?

Thanks,

Joy

Hi Joy, it is super easy! It’s only a bit longer. Yes you have to cross the street but the crosswalk light stops traffic almost immediately when you press the button. It’s not much further and you walk in front of the Swan pool to get to the Friendship Boats or the path to the Boardwalk.
