Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Is this marked in red a relatively new route to walk to Studios or have I just been unaware of it? We’ve only ever walked along the Boardwalk sidewalk from Swan/Dolphin but staying at the Reserve it looks like this will be quicker?View attachment 642935
We noticed this when we booked the Reserve for our next trip. Is there a way to cross the road (yellow area) safely? We simply could not recall from our trip last year.
It looks to me like it joins the “normal” walking sidewalk path coming from the Boardwalk area And goes under the road. Hopefully someone can clarify for us.
If you move along the sidewalk here, it looks like once you cross the canal you can backtrack down a walkway to the walkway that will take you to the Studios.

With extremely cold temps, this weekend, I wonder if the Reserve is providing heavier bed coverings (comforters) to supplement the lightweight blankets.

During a BC visit, a number of years ago, with similar weather conditions, we returned to our room only to find extra blankets placed on the beds. The extra blankets were much appreciated and such a good idea.

For our past bookings through Marriott, the website has always misquoted the deposit. For a 10-night stay (refundable rate), we were quoted a deposit that equaled about 4 or 5 nights, but when it actually hit our credit card, we were only charged one night's worth - which is what I believe it is supposed to be for the refundable rate (unless they've recently changed the policy).

Request! Can anyone who has an upcoming stay at the Reserve (or is there now) post a copy of the laundry prices! I know there are laundry facilities in the Dolphin (or Swan!) but I'd like an idea of the valet laundry prices as otherwise I'll be the one doing it no doubt!

Are they doing laundry since COVID? If so, sign me up and I can pack less on my next trip because jeans are heavier than shorts!

Can someone help me with the layout of the Dolphin. What floor level leads out to the little path towards the Yacht Club?

We explored the hotel once just briefly when we were staying at YC and I think I remember entering from the path to a floor with rooms, but I'm not sure....we were definitely pretty confused trying to get around lol.

If we're looking for rooms with the closest access to that path towards YC etc.; what would we request? We also gave a scooter and a couple strollers in our large group, so while a "ground floor" would be best, I'm trying to figure out what elevators would be closest to the YC path/Boardwalk etc.

TIA!

It isn't new. You also can walk from the Swan right along the left (west) edge of the canal.

So odd with the deposits. I haven’t been hit with any deposit at all for my upcoming March visit. We are in the US, and I have a Marriott Bonvoy account. I’m booking refundable rates. I mean, it says it will… but it never does. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I made an AP booking via Marriott on 1/22, one night deposit was charged 1/28. Surprised me because I’ve booked/rebooked the AP rate there a few times over the last year and never had a actually process.

So, here is something anecdotal and interesting. I booked a stay at the Swan Reserve (through Marriott) with a Hilton Aspire card in late December. I was charged a deposit at that time. I was also already investigating the Bonvoy Brilliant card and pulled the trigger on getting it mid January. I then canceled my initial reservation and rebooked with the Bonvoy Brilliant card. No deposit has been taken yet and that was 5 days ago. My guess... Maybe certain status with Bonvoy doesn't trigger the deposit???

My Bonvoy status is pretty much zero. I just picked up the card with this reservation. But I had a previously booked reservation on a different card, and no deposit. So strange.

I am Titanium wtih Marriott and have the Bonvoy card. I was just charged for one night for my next trip.

Also, if you get the Bonvoy card, you get $300 credit per year for charges made at a Marriott....that takes to the next statement after a trip usually

Weird.. Now I sort of want to call them and ask them if they are going to charge me a deposit or not.. Heh.

I had my March trip show as pending for about 23 hours then dropped off altogether 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had an awesome room location the last time I stayed at Dolphin, we literally just took the elevator down and were close to Fresh Market where we used our Marriott credits for a to go breakfast. It was so easy. Anyone help what tower I was in? Thanks!
