Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Has anyone had any luck updating your room reservation to a lower price on the website? I have a reservation at the Dolphin and the room rate has gone down, so I'm trying to modify my reservation. I click modify, then select the same room, then try to click "update", but nothing happens. Do you have to call for the new room rate if you're not changing the room type?

We've got a Signature Suite so I'm sure they could fit one in if we moved the table! But will do the inflatable mattress thing I think as have a few other sofabed situations on our trip!

We have a Epcot view suite in March, has anyone had luck getting a roll away in there? I’m with you, it looks like moving the table over would allow space.

I just book the new rate as a new reservation and then cancel the original one. Obviously that’s only for refundable rates.

I have been able to do so on previous reservations. Try with both the app in your phone and on a regular browser window. Just don't forget to check the category of discount (QWH, AAA, etc.)

They take a partial deposit, my room was $1700 and they took $869, you do not get to choose....mine was refundable, I do not know if it is different for the pre-pay required rooms
We had to deposit full amount, but it's fully refundable up to 5 days out...we booked directly on Marriott website. It definitely made us wait and second guess booking with them as it's such a strange practice. Not sure if we'd book with them again due to this.

Sometimes it works to update the reservation, sometimes it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, I book the lower rate as a new reservation and cancel the first one. The inconsistency can get annoying.

I saw this posted on another SwanDolphin group and figured I'd share here. Sounds like this was a letter that was sent directly to guest with an upcoming stay. Appears they are trying to resolve issues with Disney by being proactive vs just reactive.
Any one else received this?

Thanks for sharing this! This is (potentially) encouraging. Has anyone stayed at the Swan Reserve in the past few weeks? If you purchased ILL's at 7 am was it seamless or where there any issues?

I’ve been trying to modify a reservation (add a certificate) all afternoon and Marriott system is down. They keep saying to call back in an hour.

Yes that’s what I’m encountering. Like a 50% prepay. Feels steep and is it money I don’t want just sitting out there especially because I’m not 100% sure we’re going yet.

That was our issue, if DVC releases our borrowing I am canceling and booking my DVC, until then they have my money.

Is this marked in red a relatively new route to walk to Studios or have I just been unaware of it? We’ve only ever walked along the Boardwalk sidewalk from Swan/Dolphin but staying at the Reserve it looks like this will be quicker?D1810B97-A70D-402D-A80C-AD774853C09E.jpeg

The Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve seem to be completely booked between Dec 1 and Dec 3 2022. Does anybody have any idea what might be going on? Seems kind of early for all rooms to be completely booked.
That is parade filming time, could be they want to be there for that. Also popular for year end conferences

We noticed this when we booked the Reserve for our next trip. Is there a way to cross the road (yellow area) safely? We simply could not recall from our trip last year.

It looks to me like it joins the “normal” walking sidewalk path coming from the Boardwalk area And goes under the road. Hopefully someone can clarify for us.

On Google Maps satellite view it looks like the sidewalk becomes a walking path along the bridge over the water, then can loop around and join the Boardwalk to Studios path.
