Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Well if they are indeed going to open on time then there would be nothing to communicate. Maybe they’re phase opening X amount of rooms throughout the month? I’m toward the end of Sept so definitely have my eye on it too 😆

Was about to say the same thing. There's been some blogs that have been through some finished or almost finished rooms, so they may have a certain number set aside for bookings they've taken so far. Gotta wonder how comfortable it would be when there's still construction going on or certain facilities aren't open yet.

For those of you who were just there or currently there. Doest EPCOT really not open till 11 or are there parts that open earlier?

I just checked my room reservation for Oct 9-11 at the reserve. Clicked modify to see what other rooms they had.. and well we got a Jr suite for about 450$ a night(3 months ago booked), now just the standard king is 800+ a night.. does that mean it's almost full or are they bumping price due to deluxe emh?

I don't believe the EMH are starting until Oct 1, and if you look at prices for Sept they are MUCH higher than rates after Oct 1. So I don't think that's it.

It's supply and demand. We booked Oct 6-12 at Swan months ago and now its sold out on our arrival day. I doubt the increase in price has anything to do with deluxe emh.

Swan/Dolphin uses a dynamic pricing model, as the resorts begin to hit certain occupancy levels (that we don't know) or holidays the rates increase. There are times you'll see a single room listed for $1200+ a night. Then sometimes you'll see a price drop, that could be as rooms are released back to the hotel if a conference doesn't sell them all.

I don't doubt there is a small price hike to cover the additional Disney costs, but wouldn't be that dramatic.

Luggage service from Swan/dolphin/reserve soon is still going to disney resorts right?

I heard Dolphin/Swan resort use private bus service to MK and AK parks. Where is the drop-off and pick-up locations for both parks?

Here is a post by @AAV see the 5th paragraph.

@Meglen is correct. If you want to see a map see this post by @Dan Murphy then scroll down a few and I did a google snap shot. You can find the bus information in the SwanAndDolphin Moble App too.

We will be coming the week before Christmas. Do they decorate like the Disney resorts?

Yes. In years past Swan had a pretty nice choc. Santa and Dolphin has a huge tree in the lobby. They don't tend to be as elaborate as the Disney deluxe resorts but still do a pretty good job.

I think this is Swan or Dolphin in 2017, didn't label them and we went to all the deluxe and took pictures. 592049

Is it typical for Swan reservations to disappear from MDE? (In our case Swan Reserve) I logged in today because our 60 day dining window is coming up and I wanted to do some dining research, and while our park reservations were still there the resort listing was gone. I was able to re-add it easily, just thought it was odd.

Mine did when I joined the app I had to re add it. I have heard that it jsut goes away on its own sometimes.

While I wouldn't say it's typical, it's not uncommon. Since S/D are not Disney hotels I suspect there are some hicups between things that just don't work right. From what I know from a friend that works around the Disney IT he's amazed anything works ;)

Is it normal that I can't pay the remainder of my Swan Disney package on the MDE app? I made the reservation over the phone as I called in to talk with them about the cancellation policy. Do I have to call in again to pay the remainder? There's no option to pay for it online.

Congratulations! S/D is my favorite resort at Christmas! And that’s saying a lot because I absolutely love Disney Christmas! They decorate the lobby area (Dolphin better than Swan in my opinion), pipe Christmas music throughout the common areas and pool, and at night there is a light show in the area between the two hotels that synchronizes to Christmas music. You’re going to love it!
