Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Any idea if the AP discount can be added after the fact? I wanna book asap for June 2022 but if I wait it would be within 6 months and that's kinda makes me nervous.
You don’t need to wait until you’ve upgraded to an AP to book the AP rate. When making the reservation, click on the “corporate/promo“ option for rates and enter in QWH as the code.

To specifically answer your question - yes, the AP rate can be added afterward. You would simply go into your reservation, click modify and then be able to add the code. However be aware not all rooms will be eligible for that rate.

Do they ask for your AP card on check in?

The last time I stayed at the Swan (mid-April), I was charged the one-night deposit about 3.5 weeks prior to arrival. The trip before that (end of February), the deposit was charged just five days prior to arrival. On May 16th, I booked a reservation at the Dolphin for the end of July. No deposit charge yet.
I feel better now, knowing this! There still haven’t been any charges to my account, but sounds like it’s common.

I have received credit from WDW for my original Dolphin reservation, but it is still showing on my MDE. How long should I wait before I call Disney back?
Edited to add that I was able to link the non-WDW Marriott reservation to MDE!

Is anyone hearing anything on the unconfirmed rumor about Swan Reserve postponing their opening date from 9/1 to 9/16?

No but the booking engine for Marriott now shows the first day available for a booking at the Swan Reserve being Oct. 1st. How do you feel about Oct. 1st?

Searching dates in September don't show it as sold out just not available.

Just got back from a quick little trip to the Swan. It was my first time staying here and I was with my sister who is a Titanium Marriott member. She booked the cheapest room and ended up getting upgraded to the one bedroom with attached parlor. The room had 2 full bathrooms and 3 balcony’s.
Very nice

This is the flexible rate calendar (the Value Days calendar link is dead):

Yep. DH is Ambassador level. Helpful to know that they don’t have to be used for breakfast and you can use more than one at a time. Each slip is basically $20 off.
First platinum stay coming up in a week - so, are you saying the slips can be redeemed for food at any time, not just breakfast? Wonder if they’d let me use them to buy some fruit and a bottle of wine at Java?!

I am bringing our DGD (3) to Disney in late August. I currently have a reservation at Pop Century but DGD’s great grandmother (DDIL’s grandmother) has offered to use her Marriott points to book the Dolphin.

How does the Dolphin differ from the Disney resorts? I know no DME but what else is there? I already have our park reservations and our dining reservation window opens up 6/23.

Thanks!

I’ve never stayed at the Pop Century, but at French Quarters. If you want a nicer room, better beds go with the Dolphin, walk to Epcot/HS and with the money saved Uber/Lyft to MG and AK. You don’t get the theming and no charging on magic bands, but with all Disney taking Apple Pay and mobile ordering not a big deal for us. All other perks you can find on this thread, but you get almost all on property benefits.

Do you get the 60 + 10 day perk for ADRs with the Dolphin? What about theme par reservation? I have an AP and can only book three days if “offsite”.
