Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

So I found this you tube video someone posted of the construction. The video is from one month ago. The camera work is not great, but they look like balconies to me. What do you guys think? You can see decent shots around the 3:00 minute mark and then again around the 4:25 mark.

It sure looks like it could be 12 small balconies that are tight to the inside edge of corner of the building.

The only documentation that I have seen only lists balconies for the 2 Presidential suites. I hope we did not have to wait until September 1st for a first-person update.

Does anyone know the hours for the Disney Planning Center at the Swan? Has it stayed open during Covid?

If we don’t know in September I may be able to tell you in November when we go 😂

I'm looking at the S/D app now and it says Picabu is open Fridays and Saturdays, 5 PM-midnight.

I've changed from the Dolphin in April to the Swan in May to accommodate my niece's schedule. This is great news, and hopefully by May, even more hours. Thanks Dan.

This aerial photo provides a good perspective of the Swan Reserve’s location and distance in relation to the Swan and Dolphin. Any ideas out there about walking between Swan Reserve and Swan/Dolphin, without having to worry about vehicular traffic?

No that' has been my first concern about staying at the Reserve. There is no marked cross-walk just a cut-thru in the medial and on the sidewalk on the other side of Epcot Resort Blvd. This is a 4 lane divided road.

The good news is once across Epcot Resort there is a sidewalk right to the Swan through the trees that intersects the Pink Promenade around to the right to the Friendship dock and on to toward the other Crescent lake resorts . The Grotto pool area on the left (this the old walkway to the Tennis counts (where the Reserve now sits.

I wonder if they will add a cross walk when the hotel is completed?

I really doubt that they are going to spend the big bucks for a pedestrian overpass. Due to the span it would be $750,000.00+

Wow! Had no idea how much those things cost!!

There are some good ideas here for safe crosswalks. Hopefully, these, and possibly other safety measures, are in the works at the Swan Reserve. They definitely will need to enhance the lighting for nighttime conditions. Perhaps there will be a shuttle van available, especially in inclement weather.

Of course, there always is zip lining.
