Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

My next question is does it even matter if resorts linked if I have tickets and park reservations?
Not much right now without Extra Magic Hours for Disney resort guests. if you already have your Disney Park Pass reservations. Disney uses 3 buckets of Pack Pass inventory: Resort guests, AP guests, General public. Your Park Pass reservations will not come from the Resort guests Inventory if your Hotel is not linked.

For now only a couple of other small benefits . You will be included in the new 30 minute Resort Guest Early entry program when it starts for the 50 Anniversary Celebration without the need to show your Swan & Dolphin room key to a CM at the Tapstiles.

COMING SOON
  • Early Theme Park Entry: We know how much guests enjoy extra park time, so coming later this year as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, Disney Resort hotel guests and guests of other select hotels will be able to enjoy more fun with 30-minute early entry to ANY theme park, EVERY day.

The second small benefit is you can utilize Free Theme Parking without showing your room keycard. The CM at the Ticket booth can just scan your MB.

Anyone have a recent experience at Shulas, Il Mulino, or Bluezoo? Specifically asking about bar seating at each location. Is it happening and roughly how many seats? TIA

We've eaten at Il Mulino a couple of times in the past few months. There is bar seating. IIRC, about 30 seats between the actual bar and the high-tops adjacent. Perhaps more.

Suggestion, if you want to eat at Il Mulino (or the others) make a reservation through OpenTable. There is no penalty on pentacle reservations is you don't show up.

Thanks Jeff. I am making two trips down in the next couple of weeks. Can’t beat the location and food options.

Question from someone who doesn’t follow S/D that closely - what’s up with no fountains in that panoramic? Is that normal?

Can anyone tell me what to expect from the Food and Wine Classic April 17? My son has always wanted to stay at Swan so of course our one night is April 17 before going to AKL. We won’t be attending this event but I’m just trying to be prepared for what we’ll encounter. Thanks!

If it follows what they've done in past years, there isn't much to prepare for if you aren't going. There will be a bunch of booths along the esplanade between the Swan and Dolphin resorts and the attendees will make it a little more difficult to walk through that area. There is also typically a band playing somewhere in that stretch. However, the band will stop at the end of the event (8 pm) so it won't affect people trying to sleep.

April Food and Wine Classic

Under normal conditions, the back of the Swan can get very congested. With social distancing, the crowd should be limited. The last time I stayed at the Swan during an Oct F&W Classic, the live band was next to the Dolphin and very loud. You can always request a room away from the activity. The buses are in the front; the boats operate from the back, where the Classic will be.

I have a friend who lives in Orlando, they were going to come by and visit while I’m at the Dolphin next week. Would she be able to join me at the pool? Or do they require everyone at the pool check in?

Last time we stayed at the Swan I felt so awkward packing the kids up in the swim suits and taking the elevators down, walking through the lobby to get to the pool. Is there a back way to get outside without going through the lobby?

When you get off the elevators, both east and west, there will be a door leading to a courtyard which would take you to the outside. On the east side, you would also be walking through Il Molino's entrance area, albeit for a couple seconds.

thanks! We stayed on the east side before but it was a short stay and didn’t do much exploring so maybe that’s why I didn’t notice it before.

If you look at this Google view, you will see the two courtyards. Leading to the courtyards are the exits from the main building, east and west. You walk through the courtyards, under and through the covered walkway and out to the back.

Does anyone know much about walking over to boardwalk for Disney buses? If we wanted to get on the first bus, what time would we need to be at the stop? Is it very hard to find?

Its easy. Just walk over to BW, go up the stairs to the lobby level and then out the front door. From there walk to the left where the bus stop is.

But its only worth doing this for days you are going to the MK.

Thinking about doing this for our MK day as well. Is there any good spot to grab a quick breakfast over there? Is the Boardwalk Bakery any good? Figured we could walk over, grab something to eat and head to the buses.

Marriotts website on my email confirmation says they will only clean every 6th night, but with 4 people and eating breakfast in our room I know I will desperately need floors swept/vacuumed and trash removed. Are they ok with asking for a cleaning sooner than 6 days if we plan to be gone for hours?
