Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I have never seen Swan and Dolphin reservations open up more than a year in advance. Can you book S&D packages throughout 2022?

So I don’t lead someone on another thread astray with wrong info....

I am under the impression that Disney has not been offering luggage transfer for split stays to/from S/D since reopening (they are moving luggage between Disney resorts, just not S/D). Can anyone confirm the current situation?

Txs for the help.

Ok Swolphin fans... With the new Swan Reserve opening up for reservations, who plans to stay there? Are you excited about this new property? If you're a long-time Swan or long-time Dolphin loyalist... will you switch over to this property? Why... or why not?

In full disclosure, I’ve never stayed at Swan or Dolphin. Been meaning to someday, just never seems to happen for various reasons.

But I’m intrigued by the Reserve. Mainly because I’m a sucker for shiny new things. The look of the building is turning out to be better/more interesting than I expected. The views seem promising. The prices for the larger room options seem reasonable compared to Disney larger room options - plus I don’t mind the points/nights.

So...I’ll give it a shot. Probably. Maybe.

I spoke with reservations a few days ago and he couldn't confirm either way 100% (attempted to get the answer but he couldn't get through to anyone) but said with the changes covid has brought he advised to plan to move my own luggage.

When I was there in November, they wouldn't transfer my luggage to the Poly. I just took an Uber for around $10

GADisneyDad: I see that you are often on the Poly thread, so I'll ask you this question. April 2022 will be the anniversary of our family's first trip to WDW, when we stayed at the Poly in 1972 (I was 5 at the time). For the celebration, I just made a reservation for a 5 day trip to the Poly yesterday- $900/night for a standard room. Unfortunately, I'm flipping the bill for 3 rooms. I haven't been to the Poly for 20 years and I've been a S&D guy over that period.

Some time at the Poly is definitely in the cards, but I'm considering a split stay with the Swan (or maybe the Reserve) instead to save money (I have lots of Marriott points), and be walking distance to Epcot and DHS. I've never done a split night before and I would consider it a pain to pack up and move in the middle of my stay.

Any advice?

We have done split stays in the MK/EP resort areas three years running. It is fantastic! We pack with the split stay in mind. Moving resorts was way easier than I thought it would be.

I often split between MK and Epcot HS resorts. It makes the trip fun. We schedule our plans around the areas we are based out of. Makes it easy to get back to the resorts. Sounds like a grand opportunity.

You people are a bad influence....reading all this split stay stuff..just booked Contemporary for the end of my 2022 trip, figuring walking to MK for two of the days would be great...now waiting to book Swan for the beginning...my husband just shakes his head and says "whatever"...

We've done BC/Poly, YC/CR, YC/CR the last three years. Having as little as 2 or 3 bus rides on a trip is pretty amazing! Initially it was hard for us to get used to not mixing up our Park Days, and going to MK on back to back days, but once we got past our "head-trash" over that, it was an amazing experience!

I'd also say that it actually feels longer when we did the split stays - almost like two separate trips rolled into one!

I already had my park days planned and was doing EP, DHS, DHS then MK, AK, MK so it hit me that if we were at Swan at the start and CR at the end it would be perfect...we could basically walk everywhere except AK....I figure we can check out on our MK morning, uber to the Contemporary, leave our luggage, walk to the park and return that night to take our luggage to our Contemporary room..sounds awesome to me. Thank you to all for your suggestions!

Just booked 7 nights at the Swan in May!

One quick question, please... Are we able to book all of our dining reservations 60 days out or can we only book one day at a time? I've heard both to be true & knew I should come to the experts for a definitive answer.

Thank y’all! Really appreciate the replies.
