You can’t order them at the prices/selection a Disney resort guest can, but there are still plenty of MB options available on ShopDisney: https://www.shopdisney.com/search?q=magic bands&searchType=autosuggest

And gobs available in nearly every park/resort gift shop.

(And obviously MBs don’t work for room access or charges at Swan/Dolphin, you can only use them for park admission, PhotoPass, etc)

So last night I went on MDE to look for the MB info and it let me click "choose Magic Bands" and took me straight to selection of discounted ones. I am wondering if this is just a typical glitch, because I can't do it on the website. It shows Swan as my resort. So weird. I should try and order just to see what happens lol.

ETA I just went in again and it's giving me discounted prices. I even see a blue for $0. Is this crazy?

No. Using the MB to pay for stuff only works at a Disney-operated resort, as the charges are added to your room folio. They are not actually charging a card directly, only indirectly via your room.

One thing that may help is that you can use your Disney Gift Cards when you mobile order. You do need to key in your GC # when you place the order, that said that procedure is the same for everyone (even Disney resort guests). A helpful tip to make it easier is put your GC #s in your phones note app (or whatver its called on an Droid) and then you can easily copy & paste.

I have an order ready to go, but I am wondering if there's even a point to it? I guess for memory maker? We don't know if FP is even coming back this year. I could always re-use these in 2022, though.

I have a bin full of MBs, but they are more than 2 years old, so new ones would probably be better.

I see on the official S&D site they require facemasks at all times including the pool area. Has anyone stayed lately? I was hoping for a pool day but wearing a mask while laying in the sun does not sound enjoyable. And were all pools and activities open?

You don’t need to wear a mask when lounging or swimming, just when walking around the pool area/going up to the bar etc. Everything was open over Christmas week - but brrrr, the Swan lap pool was not heated! The main grotto pool was heated, but much busier.

FWIW, we walked to boardwalk each morning and caught buses there. I didn’t feel that there was enough good data yet to rely on these Swolphin buses. We were the first people in DHS and MK this week on Thu/Fri and today we were on the first ride of FoP at AK. And we just elected to ride BW or YC buses back as well since it was easier and we were often visiting their stores anyways.

(but we are big-time early arrivers as you can see so if that’s not as important to you take this DP for what it is)

How early/what time did you arrive at BW for the MK and AK buses? Planning to do the same next trip.

For anyone who has used the AP discount at the Swan/Dolphin, did showing an un-activated AP in the MDE suffice when checking in? We are planning to check in but not actually go to the parks until day 5 of our vaca. This assumes they actually confirmed the AP at all.

We’ve used that discount multiple times since the summer and have never been asked to show our card. We did mobile checkin every time so just went to the front desk to pick up room keys.

@armerida posted above that the Swan & Dolphin Front desk staff often will not ask to see proof of an AP. The rules are just like at a WDW resort, they reserve the right to ask for proof of AP to verify / validate your discount.
