Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Be careful with this. When I linked our reservation, and added our names when prompted, our room total increased. Even though our daughter is 16 (a Disney “adult”) she became an “adult” on our Swan reservation and we were charged a nightly extra person fee. Had to call the hotel to have the charge removed. When I tried to relink i was hoping I could do so without adding all names but I couldn’t find a way to do that. So we remain unlinked:)

I didn’t want our MDE messed up, so I waited until I was onsite and the front desk politely removed the extra person charge.

Important question 😂...

does the swan have THE MUST DO channel??
They don't, that's for Disney owned hotels. Though I'm not sure they are even running it like they used to at the Disney hotels.
They aren't. They took her off a while back. :( There's always YouTube!
FWIW, The Hilton across the street from Disney Springs had the must do channel. So I'm sure some other hotels were running it.
So at our last stay at the Dolphin in November of 2019, they actually did have the Must Do channel. I was so pleasantly surprised because all of our previous stays at Swan never had it. And I don’t know why, but I love watching the Must Do’s on repeat every single vacation as we drift off to sleep. My entire family can pretty much recite them verbatim at this point 🤣

Can I get an opinion or 2? I am booked at Beach Club for Thanksgiving week. We are leaning toward booking at the Swan instead.

Literally did the same exact thing last night for our trip in September. I moved over to the Dolphin. The price difference is crazy and I'll still be able to stroll over to F&W Festival from Swan and Dolphin!

Apologies for so many questions.....this not automatically linking to MDE is making me a little uneasy. I remember having to call Disney a few years ago to attach a reservation, and when I did it I had to call them each time to make changes (i.e. - add some payments against the total, etc.). I know if I have them manually link it's going to be that way again.

Should I just wait wait wait to see if it will automatically appear in MDE?

(PS - 8 Day stay at the Dolphin in September. I booked it yesterday morning...)

Thanks in advance for any advice!

In my experience Swalphin reservations have never automatically linked to MDE; we've always had to manually link them. You don't need to call, though, as you can link the reservation yourself in MDE. If you booked directly, you should be able to use your reservation number to link to MDE. If you booked through a 3rd party, the least troublesome way is usually to call the hotel directly and ask for the reservation number in their system, and then you should be able to use that number to link to MDE. Note that it usually takes 24-72 hours for the Swalphin systems to sync up to Disney's systems before you're able to link your reservations.

Yes, I booked directly on the WDW website to get a ticket/resort package. When I try to manually "link" my resort on MDE with the email confirmation number, this is the message I get:

"There was a problem processing your request. Please try again or call for support.
It may take up to 72 hours before you're able to link a reservation to your account if staying at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel, Walt Disney World Swan Hotel, Shades of Green Resort or a hotel listed under "More Great Hotels" on our site."

So I guess I'll give it a few more days before giving Disney a ring.... thanks everyone.

By "direct" I meant directly with the Swan/Dolphin. Technically, booking the Swan/Dolphin through Disney is 3rd-party, so if your Disney reservation number still doesn't work, you might want to call the Swan/Dolphin desk (at 407.934.4000 as SteveH mentioned above) and ask them for their reservation number (which is different than your Disney Travel reservation number) and give that a try. Good luck. Hope it all works out for you.

Most posters here who have had issues booked directly with the Swan or Dolphin or through Marriott’s site. Since you booked through Disney and are having issues, you might try calling Disney’s website support for assistance. You can reach someone at:
(407) 939-4357.

They might just say to wait another day or two, or they might just be able to resolve the issue for you.

We stay at the Swan several times per year. After a day or two, I use the hotel reservation number
and I don't have a problem linking to MDE.

The Swan/Dolphin discount for nurses has been expanded to include all medical professionals, through 2021.

Use code Y7N when booking online.

How do we fine the different booking codes? I work for a school district.

Thanks!
