Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Cabana Bar and Grill has some of the best food on property and dining is outdoors. Also we never ASKED for extra coffee or toiletries or even extra water. Housekeeping apparently watched after us and automatically refilled what we needed. I don't know if we were just lucky or this is their normal service but it was pretty wonderful.

Can I get an opinion or 2? I am booked at Beach Club for Thanksgiving week. We are leaning toward booking at the Swan instead. I wanted to hold both reservations to see what discounts Disney comes out with. Can I do that? Should I just wait to link in MDE until it gets closer? Is it safe to wait to book Swan until it gets closer? Should I hang on and see what happens with the Reserve? WWYD?

The park reservation system has me twitchy thinking I need to have those in ASAP.

I guess I'm not clear on why you would switch to Swan. If it's cost, what is the current cost difference? What is the dollar amount it would take for you to switch? If it's not cost, what is it?

I don't know if Disney typically discounts Thanksgiving week.

I also don't know if people will feel less concerned about the Pandemic by Thanksgiving, which could increase the amount of people who want to go then, since it is a holiday for most people in the U.S. who are not front line workers.

Don't forget to factor in the resort fee at the Swan if you are doing a cost comparison.

I'd link your MDE, if you swap resorts you can transfer park reservations over to the BC.
Yeah I just got back from the Dolphin and it was weird not having 20 different Disney channels on the TV. :rotfl:
Funny thing is on our last stay we were so busy we never watched TV ;)

Reservations at Swan or Dolphin that were booked over the weekend should be linkable to MDE this morning. It usually seems that weekend bookings won’t link till the weekend is over.

I am staying at Swan and Dolphin for the first time in April (I usually stay at Beach Club). Are there any dining options that allow you to be seated outdoors?

I know it sounds silly to some but we are committing to eating/drinking outdoors only for covid reasons.

There are two courtyard areas in the Swan with tables where you can sit outside. One is pretty close to Il Mulino, which does mobile ordering. We did that on our last trip and it was a lovely meal.

Kimonos at the Dolphin also does mobile ordering.

If you want to walk, Hurricane Hanna's poolside bar/grill is at Yacht/Beach Club. There's also some quick serve windows around the Boardwalk, but I'm not sure when they open. Other options are the pizza window and Boardwalk Bakery.

They don't, that's for Disney owned hotels. Though I'm not sure they are even running it like they used to at the Disney hotels.
FWIW, The Hilton across the street from Disney Springs had the must do channel. So I'm sure some other hotels were running it.

IMHO even with discounts BC will never get close to that rate from the Swan. Just my expereince, pre-covid, but at that time of year I'd be fully happy with that rate at the Swan - nothing like saving $2000 - you can do a lot of things with that kind of money!

There is no reason to not hold both until you decide.

Yep that’s kind of how I feel lol! We want to make a quick trip to universal next spring and this could help fund it!

I think the food selection is limited at Hurricane Hannah"s at YC/BC these days. Not the usual grilled food.

FWIW, I double book things occasionally for various reasons. No worries whatsoever.

For my trip starting tomorrow I had a Swan reservation and a YC package all the way through Christmas day. I used the YC package to book my park reservations but then ultimately canceled that since Swan (on points) was too attractive an option and I then bought tickets.
