Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Another question as I cannot tell from the app or website- is there a little market on property to buy some snacks, water and wine?
Yes, Java in the Swan lobby sells all of those things. We actually prefer to go next door to the Boardwalk and shop at the Screen Door for those things, as they have a much larger selection and accept AP discount.

Thanks for the tip. We dont have an AP but the selection may make it worth it:)

I am a platinum elite with Bonvoy, and on our trip last week, they gave me a choice of welcome gift. Rather than points (which are minimal) or breakfast (which we don't eat), I chose a 'welcome basket'. I got a choice from among different ones. Each one was food and beverage based, and gave us a bunch of nice snacks. There was one that was 'milk and cookies' based, which came with cookies and a jug of whole milk (among other things), one that was beer based (which came with beer and snacks), and a few that were wine-based (which came with a wine of your choice and snacks. We chose the red wine package, which came with cheese, salami and crackers. It made for a nice in-room snack on a couple of our park days.

Ohh!! Best tip yet! Unlimited water if you ask? I had read that they left 8 upon arrival (2 per day with housekeeping only every 4 days) but I didn’t realize we could ask for a refill when out. If so, makes the resort fee a titch easier to swallow. Thank you!
I have not been there since the pandemic. I'm only saying how it's been for us in the past. We'd leave a note for housekeeping (daily back then) and when we came back later in the day, after housekeeping had been there, we would have additional beyond the regular 2.

Promotional rates for Swan and Dolphin are renewed for 2021.

There is up to a 25% discount for nurses, teachers and school staff, military, government workers, AAA, and seniors. A discount up to 30% is available for current APs and FL residents, with qualification verified when checking in. All are subject to availability.

How do you book the AP discount rate? I have 2 nights booked with the member rate in June, but I'm wondering if the AP rate would be lower. Thank you!

We had impeccable service at Swan. We received extra water, as many towels as needed, cleaning quickly and as frequently as we wanted. Great place to stay.
Did you have to prearrange housekeeping frequency? What is the “default” housekeeping schedule? We love housekeeping when we travel. :) Thanks!

The annual passholder code is QWH.

Thank you! I was able to update my existing ressie and save $60 total for 2 nights.

Of course, now I have another question :) I also have 4 nights total booked in October on my mom's Bonvoy account for a trip I'm taking with her and my uncle - 2 separate ressies with 2 nights on Bonvoy points, and 2 nights paying cash. I checked and it looks like we could save about $109 if I switch those 2 nights to the AP discounted rate. However, I'm the only one with an AP. Does the ressie have to be in the AP's name? If possible I'd rather leave it in hers in hopes to make it easier to not have to switch rooms. Any advice on this situation, or has anyone had a similar situation? Thank you!

We have 8 rooms booked for May. 2 of us decided to renew our AP's and in-house reservations let us apply the AP discount to 6 rooms. 3 each and it didn't matter who was in the room.
