Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I understand that some rooms have recently been refurbished at the Dolphin. Is that correct? Does anyone know if there are any of these rooms in the Epcot fireworks view/balcony category?

Is it too much to request high floor, same floor and newly refurbished rooms? Is the best way to make requests by adding them to the reservation? Or should I call and fax requests as well?

Thank you!!
It's my understanding (per a post earlier in this thread) that the Swan renovations are going on now, to be completed in 2015. Then the Dolphin renovations will begin.

As far as requests go, I've made requests by phone and by noting it on my reservation, and they've always been met. I wouldn't bother with a fax.

it's been a while since our stay at the Swan. I have a few questions...

can you schedule FP+ in advance now?

Can you link the reservation in MDE?

When will the good rates AAA or AP come out for February 2015?

How much is parking with tax now?

thanks so much!

FP+ at the Swan works the same as any onsite resort at this time: FP+ reservations can be made for your entire length of stay (up to 10 days or length of ticket) beginning 60 days prior to check-in.

You should be able to put in your 9 digit reservation number to link your S&D reservation to MDE. Occasionally this doesn't work and you need to call the hotel and/or Disney.

AAA rates should already be available. If AP means Annual Pass I wouldn't expect this discount at the Swan.

Parking is $16+tax self and $26+tax valet per day.

I guess I'll look for that refurbished room next year then!!

Thank you for the info! I will have to call again and ask about AAA.

Can I purchase MNSSHP tickets at the Dolphin with my ap discount?

I would like a hard ticket and not have to go to the will call window at the MK as we will already be in the MK using a park ticket that day anyway.

The ticket counter in the lobby of the Dolphin looks like it is run by Disney, so you should be able to purchase tickets there the same as any on site hotel. Can't answer your specific question but I assume the answer is yes...

S&D do offer annual Passholder discounts, but usually the other discounts are better. You can ask the rates when you call.

Hi all! In a traditional room in the Swan/Dolphin, is there really room for a rollaway bed in a room with 2 queens/2 doubles? It just sounds like it would be really tight. We have 3 adults and 1 child. I can sleep in a bed with my child, but the other 2 adults would not want to share a bed. Just curious if a rollaway really fits!

Thanks!

Can you purchase Magic Bands there too?

By linking the reservation to the MDE account, would it then be linked to the magic bands? I am wondering for the purpose of EMH. Would we be able to just use our magic bands, or would we need to pull out our room keys?

Honestly, we didn't go to any EMH while we were there. Since the magic bands just link to MDE and the reservation is in there, I would assume MB are adequate, but it's just a guess.

We're booked at the Dolphin for the first week of December. On the website, they mention a refrigerator-stocking option, but it does not actually say if the rooms all have refrigerators! I need to refrigerate my insulin,so need one....if there is an extra charge, does anyone know how much per night?
Thanks in advance!

We are surprising my little cousin with a trip and were originally booked at POR, but we just love the Epcot resort area so much. I discovered the nurses discount (YAY nurses!), and staying at the Dolphin ended up only being a little more than POR, so we made the switch. We have stayed at the Swan (last August), but never the Dolphin, so we are very excited :goodvibes

I will be at the dolphin tomorrow through Monday. I can't wait. Thanks, Dan, for all of the great info and advice on this thread!
