Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Back to the modifying and MDE…when I modified my reservation and switched from Dolphin to Swan, I got a new reservation number but it still shows the old number and Dolphin in MDE. Since it didn’t auto update, and I didn’t change length of stay, I just wanted to double check that I should be fine with the old info in MDE?
Swan Dolphin and reserve reservations sometimes drop from DME. I suspect your cancelled reservation will eventually drop off

My last trip one of my cancelled reservations for Swolphin stayed in my MDE my whole trip, no issues.

I check in to the Swan on July 27 and just modified my reservation for the exact same room type, # of people, and AP discount and saved $80 over the original price for my 7 night reservation. It's not a huge amount, but I'll take it! The "Book Today" Bonvoy banner I see on this page encouraged me to take another look -- along with several posters saying they'd saved some money.

Also, many thanks to @Dan Murphy and all you other regular posters for all your help. You are all fantastic!

I booked a traditional double room no view at the Dolphin should I upgrade to a resort view? I did request a high floor.

Thank you. I'm only there two nights over New Years so view is not important. I didn't know if there was a diffrence in the actual room.

Have an upcoming reservation at the Dolphin in a “Premium, larger guest room, 1king, limited view”.

Any ideas what that view means. Like only half of an AC unit? LOL. Or limited view of a park? Or the view of a large cement fish?

Last time I stayed there had a view facing MK and could see their fireworks from the room. Was kinda magically cool.

Thanks for sharing any info you might have.

I am squeezing in a last minute trip and plan to stay at the Swan (we've stayed many, many times and love it!) but DH will need to work from the hotel room. Online pics show a desk/chair in the corner but I know many of the rooms have been updated and I don't know how current those pictures are.

Are there still desks/working spaces in the rooms? Assuming so, since they draw convention crowds, but need to confirm before booking the room.

Thanks!

Rooms should be the same just the view out the window. Like you we don't spend a lot of time in our room either, but last trip we had a corner room looking at the water way between Swan and Boardwalk and we loved the evening lights, pretty much left the curtains open and close the cheer curtains.

My newly renovated 2-queen room last December had this desk and chair:

Was that a resort view room or no view?

Adding to @gottalovepluto's answer, there was some discussion/speculation that the dumpster view were no view/non-cash rooms. Some members speculated that those on points were getting those rooms. No proof of it, could have just been 'luck' of the draw.

Hi. Any chance that the car rental counter is back open at the Dolphin? It used to be so convenient to rent a car from MCO and drop it off when arriving at the hotel. On our last couple of trips, it was still closed. TIA for any info!

It was still closed when we were there a couple of months ago, but maybe someone else has checked more recently?
