Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

I'd bet anything it gets thrown away if left in the room.
I’d give even money against that bet. Every time I’ve left things behind, I’ve asked housekeeping staff and they were always happy to have it or knew of another employee who would be. (Except the weirdness at Aulani, but that was definitely an outlier.)

Anyone know if this will be a problem or not: We have a reservation currently with my husband and I at the Swan Thanksgiving week. We now will have our 20 year old daughter joining us from college. When I go onto the Marriott site and try to modify my reservation to show 3 adults (we have a 2 queen room booked now) it says I can't do it because the hotel is sold out. I want the same room, just want to add our daughter. Anyone know the answer? I can call, just thought I would check here first! thank you

You should be ok since the room type has bedding for four adults. If you are concerned, you can call Marriott reservations and ask them to update the number of adults on the reservation, or message the property through the app, but it’s not really a big deal.

In my limited experience, the property has proactively called me and asked to return items - even things like shirts. Depending on the property or size of the item, you may have to pay postage.

Will bell services transfer luggage from a Disney resort (ie, Contemporary) over to the Swan Reserve? Vice Versa?

Don’t count on it. Dolphin/Swan/Swan Reserve are not Disney resorts. They are Marriott resorts at the end of the day, so some Disney services are not available.

Swan Reserve looks very solid for November 4th. Just got my notice for mobile check in and was upgraded to a “signature suite” (I suspect upgrades might be a bit easier at this property because it has a lot of suites).
Did you use a SNA or was it just a status upgrade? I'm plat which in Marriot rarely ever gets upgraded.

Edit to add got my mobile check in also, no upgrade. Will probably wait and see at check in ,I doubt they are full given the delays and uncertainty

Status upgrade. I booked whatever the least expensive room was, using my company discount. I don’t think the AP discount was working yet. When using company discounts (or ANY special discounts at Swan and Dolphin and, I assume, Swan Reserve, be prepared to produce proof of eligibility. They WILL ask!) anyway, I’m lifetime Titanium (status no longer available). Basically, any Ambassador trumps me, other LT Titaniums may trump me (not sure), and of course, should a mythical “Colbalt” wander onto the property, the property is supposed to go all out (best suite, regardless of category, personal welcome from GM, etc.)

Yeah so you are a level above me, plus I booked this 5 day stay w points so I'm probably low on the list. Doesn't really matter to me, but for the heck of it I'll see if I can get a good view or such at check in given it's day one and they may be feeling festive / relieved .

Always ask at check-in if nothing is offered and definitely offer to be flexible about waiting if you get the answer “I don’t have anything available right now.” There are both Epcot and Studios views, as well as pool views (I think pool view just means lower floor because the pool faces EPCOT). I would just ask for “view” and not be specific. Similarly, if more space is important, just ask if anything larger is available, don’t specifically ask for a suite, just ask if anything larger is available 🙂

All reports recently are that S/D will transfer to Disney resorts, but last report I recall was Disney at POP would not transfer to S/D, but might be worth checking with Disney as that report was over the summer and things continue to change.

How do I make a final payment?

I booked originally hotel only via marriott.com and linked to MDE the next day. I purchased tickets a few weeks later via the website and am now a package. When I go onto MDE in My Plans, the hotel is linked and all my party is there, but there is no option to make a payment? To the right all I see is this:
To change or cancel your reservation,
call (407) 934-7639.

I'm on hold now (with a 2 hr wait) so I figured I'd check to make sure I'm not missing something obvious. TIA!

@Hjoyce1128 If you made it into a package then you're stuck calling Disney. We had a similar issue while at POFQ our TA had to make the payments. It's worth trying via a browser as well as the MDE app.

Bummer. Final payment is due tomorrow and I can't call during work so I guess here I am for the next few hours. THank you!
