Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

When I was Disney at March I was told POPs bell service is done by a third party and have different rules than other hotels.

This came up because we had a split stay and Coronado Springs said they could not leave luggage in our room if we were not present. I asked why because POP had done it a few days earlier. There response was that POP bell service was run by a third party. Could be a similar reason for the swan and dolphin issues.
Interesting. Thanks.

I wish so badly they'd do this at the Dolphin, too!
I think they will, but no idea when it will start to happen. Going from the 750 rooms at the Swan to the over 1500 at the Dolphin its going to take longer unless they get more crews, but the impact is a lot less to operations. Since they didn't announce the update to the Swan I doubt we'll hear when they start working on the Dolphin. Heck they didn't even announce the railing refurbishment either before it started.

@hedberg1661 thanks for pointing that out, hopefully it is up next. Curious about the expanded entertainment space and meeting space.

I've just recently booked a package through Disney. I was able to connect my reservation number to MDE and see our resort stay information, but our tickets say they are "not valid for admission-must show ID at Ticket Window before using." I assume this means I cannot use them until a CS activates them for us. Can I do this at Dolphin guest services or do I need to go to a park or Disney Springs? TIA

You can go to the Disney Planning Center (staffed by Disney CMs) and they can get your tickets all fixed up for you.

We’ve got a 2night pre-cruise stay booked in mid/late August, and I’ve been watching room prices closely.

We aren’t AAA members, but today some new rates dropped (AAA Hot Deals)….and I’m wondering if anyone has a crystal ball as to whether these might be the best ones I’ll get? (For example, no view room is $236 with the deal - I’ve currently got $270, so not sure I’ll join AAA just for that!)

I doubt you will see a better deal than that for the AAA rate. Just be careful with some of the hot deals as they can be pay in full with no refunds.

Hi everyone.

I am booked to stay at the Dolphin for 4 nights at the end of August but looking at the videos of the recent renovations at the Swan, I am very tempted to change - especially as the beds are Queen size and my two teenage daughters are travelling with me.

I have booked with Virgin Holidays and it is an additional £100 to change to the Swan. Would you change for this price?

Is that total? If that’s the total difference I would switch but that’s just because the Swan is my favorite (Dolphin is always too loud/crowded for me).

@Erica Sell just to add to @SteveH 's comment about the 2 sinks, you also get a large mirror and counter space. The Swan is 1/2 the size of the Dolphin so much easier to navigate to your Queen beds vs Double beds at the Dolphin. ~750 rooms at the Swan vs ~1500 at the Dolphin.

And a quicker exit to the Friendship boats, fewer guests at the bus stop, and a slightly shorter walking route to Epcot and HS. All this can be yours for $20 more per day.
