Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Well just walked through the grotto pool area. It isn't pretty. The walk from the swan is particularly impacted by the construction. Loud noise all through the areas. Equipment, fences etc. I asked someone at the site what is happening. It's a connection to the new Swan Reserve with new side walks. She said it will go on for months. I like to sit behind the waterfall, which drowns out a lot of the noise, but may look to switch over to the Dolphin, because the walk to the Grotto is much less obnoxious.

How is the Swan lap pool? It looks like it would be less effected by the construction than the grotto and dolphin lap pool?

It wasn't too bad. There is noise though. The construction begins when you pass the bar at the Swan pool. You have to walk through construction and fencing to get to the Grotto pool.

All this talk of the construction right now is making me less jealous.... the grotto pool area is my happy place.... :rotfl2: usually. I hope it doesn't last too long.

On the one hand, that stinks about construction around the pool.

On the other hand... you could be staying at the Poly right now.... which is a construction pit.

A little bigger picture from above showing the construction area. Click picture for even lager view.

Thanks GADD

I just couldn't stand only going for 4 days and since I already had 5 day tickets, I just extended my stay at Dolphin one more day. Since I'm going solo, pool construction noise isn't going to bother me since the only talking to anybody I'll be doing is ordering refreshing adult beverages. Thank goodness for having to book parks in advance and only getting to buy tickets instead of APs because if I could have gotten an AP, I have a feeling that trip would have been changed to longer. April 11 - April 16, so excited to get back to Dolphin and my happy place.

Soon to be first time visitor to the Dolphin! Booked my reservation for April through costco about 3 days ago, but I still can't link the disney confirmation number they gave me to MDE :guilty:. How long should I wait before calling to have someone look at it?

If Java at the Swan has mugs, I would say that Fuel at the Dolphin would also have them.
Java was closed when we walked by. Maybe only open early?

It was the shop that served sandwiches that was open.

Interesting about Picabu being open. When we checked into the Swan, we asked about it and was told it was closed. (We wanted to have breakfast there.) Maybe we didn't ask the question right and they thought we meant was it open when we checked in, which was early afternoon in the middle of the week.
