Walt Disney Parks and Resorts U.S. Hotels Receive ‘Best Hotels’ Awards

If you haven’t heard, eight Walt Disney Parks and Resorts hotels were recently named Silver Badge Winners by U.S. News & World Report. All of the winning Disney Parks hotels ranked as one of the best in their market.

We’re especially thrilled about the awards because they recognize the creativity and heart of our cast members who create Disney magic and deliver the great guest service that the company is known for. Here’s the breakdown of winners:

In California, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel was named one of the Best Hotels in Anaheim and in Hawaii, Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa ranked as one of the Best Hotels in Honolulu – Oahu.

Six hotels at Walt Disney World Resort were also named Best Hotels in Orlando, including:

• Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
• Disney’s Beach Club Resort
• Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
• Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
• Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
• Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

The hotels were ranked by travel experts and guests through online reviews and ratings and a complete list is posted online.

Isn't it ironic that the two most popular Deluxe Resorts didn't make the list...the Polynesian and the Contemorary.

Because they were built in 1969-71...and largely remain the same

You can put lipstick on them and a $400 price tag...but still.

Yes...it's like I made this list...for a couple of
Reasons...

1. The top 3 hotels are luxury brands...I've been to them all and stayed in two. That is a recognition of SERVICE...which Disney don't do. This is validation of every Counter argument to Disney "deluxe" on about 100,000 threads where it's been discussed.

2. Second, they got the Disney hotels right...
AKL is the best, most well rounded hotel. "You're joking, right?" ...no... That is a fact.
Yacht/beach/boardwalk are definitely next. I would bet that next is wilderness lodge.

The choo choo and the price doesn't mean great... It never did. Not bad... But the price of the Monorail hotels has always been a bait and switch.

3. This goes back to the comment on the four seasons thread about it becoming a "lower end deluxe" run by Disney... If it failed.

This list will have a new #1 next year...and it will be the four seasons...you can right that down.

And coincidentally...the hotel that doesn't appear on the list that some people think will "still" exceed the four seasons... The great white nope...where's she at?

I imagine that Gaylord palms and portfolio bay are somewhere in between 4-7 as well... It's about SERVICE...not monorails and price tags.
