Walt Disney designed WWII gas mask

Here is an article in the Washington Post today. I'm sure there are Walt fan's that knew about this but I had not.

Walt and the studio did many propaganda and instructional films for the Government and military. Many of the airplanes and ships, tank, etc, decals with Disney characters were designed and drawn by the studio as well.

Much of it was done for free and the studio was not in good financial shape when the war ended. There was some money in the UK, but due to UK law Disney could not take the money out of he country, that is why after the war into the 50's Disney started making movies in the UK.
