The 2007 shareholders meeting of the Walt Disney Company will be held on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, La.

Here's the link to the 2007 proxy statement in case you are interested: http://media.disney.go.com/investorrelations/proxy/proxy_2007.pdf

I was hoping this years meeting would be at WDW since last years was in Anaheim. Anyone planning on going?

Dang, that's so close yet so far. I'd love to go to NO, but a shareholder's meeting is just not a good enough draw.

Maybe someday there will be another shareholder's meeting at WDW. I've been waiting so long already . . .

How many shares do you need to own before you are invited to the Meetings?

I believe you only need to own one share in order to attend the annual meeting and receive a copy of the annual report to shareholders. Of course, now Disney usually has the annual report on their web site for download.

Yes, one share is enough to get you the proxy materials. If you want to attend, however, they do ask that you respond to that mailing to request actual tickets.

I'm a stock holder and I have yet to recevie any material regarding the stock holder meeting. But, I won't be able to go anyway.

My daughter and son both own 5 shares apiece. I live 30 min from N.O. and would like to go. Would I be able to go and attend for my children?

As long as you have a signed proxy you should be able to attend and vote on their behalf. If they are too young to give permission I would check with a stock broker to check on what your status would be.
I have only attended one shareholders meeting and that was in Philadelphia but, there were many there who were not stockholders themselves but we proxy on behalf of someone else.
Enjoy!

There's an interesting article on Jim Hill media which claims that the 2007 shareholders meeting was originally planned for WDW. However the company was fearful that alot of the laid off baggage handlers might show up at the meeting to protest some of the recent changes at WDW. I have no idea if the info is accurate but it makes for interesting reading.
