I am hoping to stock my new owners locker by way of a direct delivery to Kidani from Walmart. Has anyone done this? Will Kidani hold a package for me if it arrives before I arrive? So I just ask for it when I check in?

Is there a specific package delivery address for DVC/Kidani?

Thanks! (And no I am not going to rent a car. Don't want to do it.)

Last year we had to ship a couple packages to a DVC resort, and we were advised to send them by UPS, not USPS. The resort addresses are not recognized by the USPS so they would go to a central mail center before going to the resort. Its hard to judge when it would show up at the resort. Our packages were held for us, and waiting when we checked in because our reservation number and date of arrival were on the package. I don't know how Walmart ships. Its worth asking. You will love your Owners Locker, we have two now.:)

Good to know. I've shipped by UPS due to convenience, but wouldn't have known not to send along via USPS. Thanks!

Just an FYI, Both Fedex and UPS are now providing shippers with services that include all, part and/or final delivery by the USPS, and many, many companies are making this their basic delivery option, and advertising it as a UPS or Fedex service type, which can be misleading.

...So if USPS deliveries are not recommeded, when selecting delivery options on a website, be sure not to pick the cheapest option even if it says UPS, this will likely be UPS Surepost which is final delivery by USPS. To ensure UPS delivers your package, you should pick an option that either specifies UPS Ground or, if that is not listed you may need to pick a 3 day, 2nd day or higher service to ensure that the Brown truck delivers your package to Disney and not the White one. Even then you have to hope that the shipper doesn't downgrade your service if the Surepost would get it there at the same time, they sometimes do that too, although it is discouraged. To be absolutely sure, and I know it is expensive, but it may be necessary to pick Next Day service, that always goes all the way by UPS.

Just another FYI, if something does go UPS Surepost or Fedex Smartpost delivery will almost always take 1-2 days longer than what it says if you track the package. The UPS/Fedex estimates on delivery is Delivery to the USPS location closest to you it will almost always take at least one more day for the USPS people to get it to you, (I have had it take up to a week extra)and you pretty much always loose visibility on the package during that time as the USPS tracking doesn't work very well.

I work for UPS and we see these kind of issues all of the time.

My one Walmart order has been shipped in FIVE boxes. Not my intention at all!

Would I request the boxes at the front desk? Bell services? And yes I'll end up tipping the folks who find and hold them for me. They should be arriving any day, so I'll call and confirm arrival am make sure they stay there until I arrive on Saturday.
