Just came back from Walmart in Atlanta (Chamblee) they have the door buster bluray W/wifi in store marked down to $50, was $69 as a doorbuster also the Samsung 32 in is $298 and the 46 inch marked down too. They had quite a few of both at least 100 of the Bluray and maybe 50 of the tvs in the electronic section.

EDIT********** 11:13pm
Please read through all post, it appears this player does not stream netflix. It is Wifi but does not stream netflix. It is not netflix ready. It is advertised as such by Walmart it clearly states Netflix ready from what I have read it is not.
Still a good price for a blueray, just not netflix streaming. Walmart messed up!!

I got one of those..looks like I have to make a trip to Walmart tomorrow for the price adjustment :(

kinda freaky because I have been having a lot of deja'vus lately....(what is plural for deja'vu?)....and reading this post was a real deja'vu.

Are the BluRay brand a good one?
I am trying to rally my sister into getting one as a family gift for us....as putting a limit on family spending. She has only 1 child and we have 5 so I always figure she is getting the short end of things.

I was just grocery shopping at my Walmart tonight and noticed that they has alot of big screen tv and blue ray players, they did not have a sign up how much they were and I was in a hurry so I didn't ask. I might just have to go tomorrow to find out the prices.

I don't have a Blu-Ray player either and keep wondering what's so good about them? Do they play the regular DVDs or do you have to go out and replace all your regular DVDs to the Blu-Rays?

from my understanding they play regular DVDs, that is what is so appealing to them....you do not have to immediately purchase new movies.

i read on another thread that someone returned the $69 blu-ray player to wal-mart, because it doesn't stream netflix. just thought i'd add this, in case someone was intending to use it for that purpose.

I swung by our Walmart today to look at blue-ray players for DH. The one advertised for $69 is the Magnavox 5120. DH didn't want that one (no streaming Netflix) however the 5130 is wifi and netflix capable. I scanned it to price check and it came up $69 NOT the $118 that's on the shelf sticker. It came to $74ish with tax. I'm not 100% sure that it's the exact one he wants, but I figure for that price, I'll take a chance. I don't know if this is happening at every store, but it's definitely worth a look. :goodvibes

wow! SCORE! :thumbsup2

When I was at my Walmart last night there were quite a few Magnavox and LG blueray dvd players sitting on the floor. I asked how much they were and I was told 118.00 and 84.00. The price that was before the door buster price I guess. I thought it was strange that they would not sell them for the door buster price when there were so many left. I might have to get my hubby to make a trip back there tonight.

I believe it does have built in wi-fi but it is not Netflix compatible. I think you can only stream from Vudu which would be a major drawback for most people.

Sorry, I'll edit my post. I meant to say just no Netflix, my fingers didn't type what I meant them to say. :goodvibes

Oh, okay. I don't know that I will ever use the Wifi option but I guess since it came with a 10.00 vudu trial I guess I will check it out.

It was me who posted about returning the $69 Magnavox BlueRay. We assumed that anything with wifi would stream Netflix, but not so!

I might go back and check the other model if it's scanning cheaper than the tag! Good tip!

I had a friend return his this morning...they exchanged with a $94 LG model at the store. Hope that helps someone.

Great deals! Please note that while all WalMart prices in the cont. US start out the same, and the same price changes are sent from the home office, each store can take additional markdowns if they can afford to. Some stores that had alot of black friday items left, may decide to take additional markdowns to clear out merchandise. So what you find at one may be different at another store. Stores cannot raise their prices at all over the original price.
