Hello: Is there a walkway from the Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom? I heard somewhere that there is. Thanks

I did it on my arrival day. After a lot of sitting on the plane I thought my legs would appreciate a stroll. I walked to Magic Kingdom from the Contemporary, took a boat to the Polynesian, walked back to the MK (getting from Poly to GF was a bit confusing), took a boat to the Wilderness Lodge, had a light meal, took the boat back to MK and walked "home."

Sounds like a nice way to see WDW!

Thanks for the information. It sound like something we'd love to do. In fact the your entire walk, boat and dining sounds great. Where did you eat at Wilderness Lodge and how was the food?

It's open, and beautiful. Such a great way to unwind after Magic Kingdom. It's also fun to walk underneath the monorail and wave when it passes by. I played a game of how many people I could get to wave back at me.

If the monorail had been running between the CR and the Poly when I was there I would have loved to have added that to one of the legs of my adventure.

I ate at Geyser Point Bar and Grill. Lovely to sit outside (especially coming from New York state which can be stingy with warm weather in the spring). I also highly recommend Roaring Fork.

Does the walkway really only open 1/2 hour before park opening? We’re staying at GF in January and like to actually be at the gate by 1/2 hour before so we’d need to be on the path earlier than that.

Actually, that kind of surprised me. When I used the walkway, I don't remember seeing anything that would "close off". So to me, it appeared like it would be available 24 hours a day. Do we have any early morning runners or walkers here perhaps that can verify that it's always open, at least in the early morning?

I don't know the hours but at the very least there are gates at the swing bridge that they can close off.
