Hi:
Getting ready to buy new sneakers for our upcoming trip. Looking for suggestions for a good walking sneaker. I have sandals, but like to alternate between the two. Since I am carrying a good extra 40 pounds, I'm looking for a good support sneaker. I bought Sketchers last trip and prior to that always had Easy Spirit. Thanks for any help.

I really like New Balance, I have a pair for wearing around and I have another pair that I run in. Very comfy and supportive. Have a great trip!

I have been wearing Mizuno Wave and have found them to be so comfortable. I am using them to walk on the TM and I've enjoyed the larger toe box. I just purchased another pair to use alternating them for getting ready for the 1/2 marathon in January.

I agree NB. And if you have Kohl's by you they have great sale prices on NB. Last time I got some Ecco's at an outlet & they were great also.

Kae: I do have a Kohl's near me so I'll stop by there and also check out the Eccos. Tammy NC, I'm not familiar with Mizuno Wave. Where can I find these? Since I have a wide foot, I like the idea of the wider toe. Thanks everyone.
Keep the suggestions coming.

I bought my first pair of Mizuno's at Dicks Sporting Goods and the next pair, I ordered on-line from https://www.zanzabarbazaar.com. They are more pricey than some regular walking shoes, but they are very comfortable and I was really needing a good shoe for the marathon. Last year I wasn't well prepared in the shoes and my feet paid a very high price. Good luck in your search.

Thanks Tammy. We have a Dick's Sporting in the area so I'll go check them out.

Hey! You MUST try to find the Nike Air Impel women's walking shoe...they had it at Kohl's last year and I LOVED THEM!!! I went back this year and they still had the same shoe...but none left in my size! It's the most comfortable and cushy shoe I've walked in. I walk 25 miles a week and really need strong shoes. I think Dick's might have them as well...I used to wear New Balance and every other year they come up with a design that is a fit with me...I found another Nike Air Impel shoe at Kohl's...similar design but the blue/grey one really had a bit more cushion than this white with pink swoosh on toe has. But it's like walking on a cloud!

Keep your eye out for it!

I'm looking too and was going to try New Balance, I keep hearing about them from various people, the latest was DD's nurse today! I've also heard buy one size larger than you usually wear. Anyone else hear that?

I used to love New Balance (I found them pretty true to size) but my new favorites are Crocs! They are so comfortable, lightweight, and dry out easily on the water rides. I wore them for the whole week and had almost no foot pain, which is a big improvement over the past!

They don't look like much, but they really, really work!

If you are talking about buying one size larger for the marathon, yes that is what I have heard too. I have done that and it is making a big difference in my walks on the TM. I will be testing out the walking on pavement within the next few weeks.

This is true, at least for me. I normally wear either a 6 1/2 or a 7, but both my New Balance running shoes and my New Balance whatever shoes are a
7 1/2.

My foot doctor recommends Rockport or New Balance.
I have one of each and like both.

I bought two pairs of PROPET sneakers on zappos.com. I LOVE THEM. My husband bought them also and they are the most comfortable sneakers we've ever worn. I actually bought the washable ones for my WDW trip in August, because I figured I would get caught in the rain alot. They worked out perfectly.
