I know this has been asked a lot of times on the Dis but right now my search is not working for some reason, and I know in this section I would get some great answers.

When we went in December of 2010 I wore my gym shoes that were newer (I know bad idea), and came home with gout from build up in my foot. My question is since I am a bigger girl and this time we will be going in September I know I will not want to constantly be wearing gym shoes since it will be so hot. Would Crocs work for bigger people? I am looking for a lightweight but waterproof shoe to wear around the parks. I already know how hot it is going to be but want to try and be as comfortable as possible!

Thanks for any ideas you can give!

I wore my crocs last year. But, I also took 2 pair of sneakers and kept rotating my shoes. These were all shoes I wear for work. I work all day on my feet with a lot of standing and walking, so I wanted shoes I knew would be comfy. This strategy worked out great for me. My mom wore sandals and got a huge blister that covered 3 of her toes and lost a toenail. So my theory is: wear what is going to be comfy for you and your feet and make sure they are broken in.

I definitely wanted to go for comfort and am hoping that Crocs can do that for me. I will probably just switch in and out too, I just know with that September heat that I am going to want to let my feet breathe at sometime! :thumbsup2

You might also want to buy some high quality "wicking" athletic socks. They'll keep your feet drier -- which also means less annoying, blister-causing, rubbing.
