We have our first trip home to the Beach Club Villas in 3 weeks. This will be our first time ever staying in the Epcot Area. I'm trying to sort out our travel plans a little in advance, but I'm not really sure how much time I should be alotting for travel.

Can you walk to Epcot, and how long would it take?

What about Hollywood Studios? Can you walk? If not, do you have to take the boat, and how long would it take?

Can you get between Epcot Area hotels easily? We have dinner reservations at the BW one night, and at the Dolphin another. Can we walk, take a bus, or boat?

Finally, can we use the Community Hall at the BW, or is that only for guests staying there?

Thanks so much.

BCV is right next to International Gateway. It is a five minute walk (tops) to EPCOT from Beach Club.

You can walk to the studios as well. It takes a bit longer than if you were at the Boardwalk, but it's still do-able. About a 20 minute walk or so. If you do not want to walk it, you can take the boat. However, unless you get the boat right on time, you will get to the Studios faster by walking.

Very walkable. You can also take the boat across the lake depending upon the time you have. Either way is pleasant.

Enjoy yourselves!

It depends. What is your family like: Power walking commandos? 4 kids under the age of 6? Seniors with canes?

But, in general, Epcot is right next door. You walk.

Swolphin & Boardwalk are a short 5-10 minute walk for most families. The boat will be slower, but good for those who are mobility challenged, or just enjoy the ride.

MGM (that's the name, and I'm sticking to it) is a longer walk. If you enjoy walks, it's maybe 20 minutes for most families. Figure more time coming home when you are tired at the end of the day.

This is one of the BIG reasons we bought at BWV - other than really liking the hotel/villas. We can walk quickly to two parks, or take boats. We like the walks and we love the Epcot resorts. The whole area is fun to walk, and the Boardwalk (the actual "boardwalk" area along the lagoon) is a hoot at night. It has outdoor entertainers, games, bikes, strolling/people watching, kiosks, music, food - it's a lot of fun. We love it.

DisFlan

Most people walk to Epcot, but you can take the boat (and a lot of people do after a long day).

Many people walk between the resorts, but again, you can take the boat - know which way its going or you can end up with a very long boat ride (down to the Studios and back) just trying to get across the small lake).

I personally think very few people actually walk to the Studios. Its doable, and I've done it at least once a trip for several years - but the path is not nearly as crowded as the Epcot path - as said, its about a 20 minute walk.

I've heard stories of people making the walk from Fantasmic at the Studios into Epcot for Illuminations - you have to be a fairly quick walker to pull it off with a 7:00 Fantasmic show, but people do it.
