I've been looking on my iPad and it says that it's just under a 2 mile walk to crossroads from dtd - I think that's pretty doable - but just wondering if there would be a safe place to cross the road ?
What do u think ?
Has anyone done this before?
Thank you for your help? ;)

I've walked there once,as long as they haven't changed anything with the DTD remodelling, you can cross the road near the bus stop at the marketplace. That takes you onto the left side of hotel plaza boulevard. You can walk all the way down on that side, there is then a huge 4 way intersection at the end where crossroads is, and there's crossings there too

be extra careful when you cross 535 (that huge crossing just before crossroads)

and remember that cars will turn right on red. So don't assume that cars will stop no matter what when the pedestrian light is green (actually it's white)

there will be a countdown on the pedestrian light showing how much time remains before the light goes to "stop" again.

Play it safe, it's a busy highway.

Hi....

Ive got to do the same when I go and collect our hire car from Sixt, its about 1.5 like u say about 25 walk or there is a bus 50 from DTD to by crossroads it takes about 5 mins and runs every 30 mins I think.. :thumbsup2

We've done this numerous times to walk to Millers (a little further than the crossroads) and back again, nice easy walk especially after a few Budweisers! lol

Personally - I would never cross that crosswalk, it's bonkers busy with lots of unfamiliar tourists in cars and on foot. Am sure you will be ok if you keep your wits about you, but it is almost like crossing the M4 lol.

Remember as well in the hot sun walking seems so much longer than it really is, though if you are fit there wont be a problem!

We have walked it numerous times, with both fit and unfit/older people in our party. (Usually my grandparents who are in their 70's) It's really not a bad walk, it usually takes us around 20mins and we walk at a leisurely pace.

The crossing is absolutely fine. Yes it's busy but as long as you pay attention to the crossing lights, and only cross when the man appears to say you can (and double check for cars turning right) then it's fine. You get plenty of time to cross the road as long as you walk straight across. :)
